BACHTOBER PIPE ORGAN CONCERT AT THE

BIG RED CHURCH

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2024 at 3:00

A concert featuring the organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach will be performed on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of the First Congregational Church of Fresno. Bach is a central figure in the Baroque Period of Music from 1685 to 1750, marked by his birth and death dates. Bach wrote over 1,200 compositions for different performing mediums, from choral and voice, to instrumental and orchestral, but his keyboard (organ) works are considered among the finest ever produced.

The “Bach” celebration will feature Scott Horton, Music Director and Organist at the First Congregational Church.

Among the compositions performed at this year’s Bachtober Concert will be the Concerto in A Minor, after Vivaldi, Prelude and Fugue in A Minor, and the famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor.

Admission is free, though a free-will offering will be taken to benefit the Casavant Pipe Organ Renovation Fund.
