Devotion, written and presented every Sunday service.

Good morning! May the grace and peace of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
Throughout the Old Testament, God’s chosen people continually strayed from God’s word and were chastened by the Lord for their disobedience. Then would come brief periods of time when the people would repent. They would return to the Lord, be observant of his commandments and God would bless them mightily in His love and benevolence.
The prophet Malachi informed the people that the Lord would send His messenger to clear the way before Him and “the Lord, whom they sought would suddenly come to His temple.”
This was written 400 years before John the Baptist appeared to prepare people’s hearts for the arrival of Christ.
We are blessed to be living on this side of the cross, partakers of the new covenant sealed with the blood of Jesus, the worthy Lamb of God.
We need to be constantly on guard and wary of falling into idolatry. Love of material goods, the pursuit of entertainments, and all lusts of bodily pleasures and searches for fame that do not bring glory to the Lord are an abomination in the sight of God.
God’s Holy word contains all the wisdom and instructions that anyone can ever need. Its truth is so deep that no scholar can ever know all its riches, yet even a child can come and sip its goodness and delight.
Share this eternal treasure with your children, your families and neighbors, it is written “your world is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”.
We are to be a light in this dark and fallen world as followers of Jesus Christ, glory to Him and the Father that the light of His truth is eternal. Amen.
