In 1487, Guru Nanak Dev Ji (Son of Mehta Kalu Ji & Mata Tripta Ji) was married to Mata Sulakhni Ji (Daughter of Baba Mool Chand Ji and Bibi Chando Rani Ji) in the village of Batala, Punjab.

Whilst the traditions would have Guru Ji walk around a fire, Guru Ji told the pandits that They would only walk around the creator of the universe. True to Their word, Guru Ji and Mata Sulakhni Ji walked around Gurbani, showing the importance of Gurbani and how Gurbani is the centre of every Sikhs life.

Today marks the Parkash Purab of Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji

I remember Sri Guru Har Kishan,
by whose sight all the sufferings vanish.

The 8th Nanak, Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji is the healer of all wounds & pain of Life. Guru Harkrishan Ji at a very young age of 5 years became the 8th Guru after Guru Har Rai Ji the 7th Guru. Guru Sahib Ji continued to spread the message of Guru Nanak Sahib of Vaheguru and gave the Sikhs his valuable teachings. During the year 1663, the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb summoned the Guru to Delhi as he wanted to replace the Guru with his elder & corrupt brother Ram Rai.

At the same time a plague of small pox spread across the city, thousands of people were dying on the streets. The rulers and high class including the Emperor did not venture out of their palaces and fort, out of fear of contracting the deadly disease; leaving the people of Dehli to fend for themselves. Instead of meeting with the Emperor, Guru Harkrishan Ji did what the Emperor could not, he fearlessly walked down the narrow streets of the city helping the diseased & the sick. Upon seeing the Guru walk amongst them, the spirits of the people lifted and many were cured of all their pain. Guru Harkrishan Ji at age of 8 years left this world and became one with Vaheguru. Before leaving this world Guru Harkrishan ji gave a message to the Sikhs to find the 9th Guru "Baba Bakale".
