FRESNO ART MUSEUM VISIT ON SATURDAY, JUNE 20TH

Did you know that Fresno has its very own fine art museum? Well, we do! Ed Kilgore is arranging a visit there on Saturday, June 20th at 10 am, with lunch afterwards at Ming’s Chinese restaurant for all who would like to continue the fellowship.

The group will meet out front of the Fresno Art Museum, 2233 N First St. (Clinton & First). Cost is $10 for adults and $7 for youth (ages 5-17); 4 and under are free. For more information and details on the current exhibitions, please go to the museum website.

There’s no need to preregister, but if you’re planning to join the group for lunch, please sign up on the sheet on the Parish Hall door so that Ed can coordinate with Ming’s.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDIES IN JUNE

All women are welcome to attend one of our Bible Studies! We have two groups going, so you can do an evening study in the comfort of your own home or meet in person in the morning…or both. We’d love to have you join in!

Tuesday, June 9th, 7:00 pm: The Esther Bible study meets online via Zoom. If you haven’t been on the Zoom list for this study before, please contact Sheila Lynch.

Thursday, June 18th, 10:00 am: The Naomi Bible study meets in the Memorial Room at Bethel and then has lunch together (please bring your lunch with you).

PRAYER GROUP MEETS ON JUNE 9th: ALL ARE WELCOME!

Please join us for prayer on Tuesday, June 9th, at 10:30 am in the Memorial Room!
This group is open to anyone who’d like to join in thanking God for our blessings and in praying for friends, family, our church, our nation, and the world. It’s a no-pressure group; you don’t have to explain why you want to pray for a specific person or situation or pray out loud. Hope to see you there!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS COMING! JUNE 28-JULY 2
• Sunday, June 28, after church from 12-2 pm (lunch is provided)
• Monday-Thursday, June 29-July 2, from 10 am to noon

Our theme this year is BAM! Here Comes Jesus!, and we welcome children from 3 years old to those who have just finished 6th grade.

Is God calling you to volunteer?
We can always use volunteers. But this year, we’re going to offer one special activity each session, so we’re looking for people who might want to share their love of things like cooking, acting, music, science, handicrafts, maybe making a VBS video…whoever God calls, that’s who we’re looking for! We’re looking for guest storytellers, too.

Love Project
Every year at VBS, we do a project to show God’s love to people outside of Bethel. This year, we’ll be making Student Kits for Lutheran World Relief to distribute to children around the world. We have the funds to buy the materials for the kits, but we’ll need shipping funds too. So if you’d like to donate toward that project, please make your check out to Bethel and note in the memo section that it’s for VBS Love Project. Thank you!

Pray and invite
Your prayers make VBS go so smoothly and give us such a great chance to share the Gospel. So we hope you’ll ask God to lead you to the children in your life who He’s calling to VBS. Then, invite them to join us for a week of Bible stories, music, crafts, games, snacks, friends, and fun! (Any questions, please contact Judy Taylor or Sheila Lynch).

MEN’S BIBLE IS ON HIATUS THROUGH JULY

Our men’s Bible study group generally meets every other Wednesday at 10 am, but they’re taking a break for the summer. If you’re interested in this group, but the day and/or time don’t work for you, please let Stan Marks know. The group is open to change to welcome new attendees!

FOR YOUR AUGUST CALENDARS…
We’re looking forward to having our yearly yard sale on two Saturdays in August this year: August 8th and 15th. So if you’re doing some spring cleaning, we’ll gladly take the gently-used items that you no longer need. CONFIRMATION SERVICE ON MAY 31ST:

Two of our 8th graders—Tazia Rosendale and Cristian Oseguera—have been studying the Bible and their Lutheran faith together for the last 2 years. This month, on Confirmation Sunday, they will bless us with their faith statements and confirm the promises that were made for them when they were baptized. As a congregation, we join together to support them with our love and prayers. Please mark it on your calendars today!
