The Way Ministries...John 14:6 is a 501 (c) 3 faith based organization incorporated with the State of California. The ministry is a non-denominational, culturally diverse, Christian ministry. Since its inception in 1989, the ministry has been actively engaged in the battle for the hearts and minds, and even the lives of some of Fresno's most vulnerable children. The ministry operates on the belief

that there are various ways to minister to the needs of our community. The ministry has two flagship projects for children between the ages of five and 12 -Saturday School: An African and African-American Cultural Education and Self-image Program, and the North "U" Street Clean-up Project. Saturday School uses cultural education to improve self-image, teach responsibility, and instill a joy for learning. The North U Street project uses clean-up and exercise programs to teach the value of hard work, and instill discipline and neighborhood pride. The goal of both projects is for participants to love their neighbor, graduate from high school, and go on to post secondary education. The ministry has served close to 1000 children between both programs. Over the years, some have stayed on to assist in the programs. Some have gone on to two and four year colleges. Some have stopped at the Educational Coordinator’s office (Francine Oputa) at Fresno State and asked, “Remember me?” Some have come back to North U Street to express their gratitude for providing them a safe haven while they were in the Jefferson neighborhood. Some are gainfully employed and productive citizens, in cities, in and out of California. Through both projects, the ministry board and volunteers have been able to encourage, to re-direct, and to strengthen children in their families, in our neighborhood, and in our community. In 2007, The Way Ministries…John 14:6 implemented its vision for a local church – The Way Christian Fellowship – in the Jefferson neighborhood. The Way Christian Fellowship is located at 2940 Fresno Street Fresno, CA 93721. Children’s church is at 10 a.m. Youth and adult worship is at 11:30 a.m. To support one or both programs please send your tax deductible donation to:

Say No to the Devil for Freedom and Health

Prayer

Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name. Thank You, Father, for showing us in Scripture how Jesus resisted the devil’s temptations in the wilderness. Though He was hungry and weak, He stood strong on Your Word.

Father, help us—whether young or old—to do the same. When the devil tempts us with food, drugs, violence, lies, or any harmful habit, give us the courage to say, “No! The Bible says…” just as Jesus did (Luke‬ ‭4‬:‭1-13 EASY‬‬). Remind us that the way to freedom and health is not through giving in, but through trusting and obeying You. May Your Word strengthen us, may Your Spirit guide us, and may our lives bring glory and honor to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Jesus, who knew no sin yet became sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21, NIV). Lord Jesus, I am forever grateful for Your love and mercy shown through the cross, Amen.

My Transgressions, and My Sin are Always Before Me

Prayer

Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name. Thank You, Father, for the assurance in Your Word that, “If we confess our sins, [You] will forgive us. We can trust [You] to do this. [You] always do what is right. [You] will make us clean from all the wrong things we have done” (1 John 1:9 ERV).
Like King David, I cry out: “Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love; according to Your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight; so You are right in Your verdict and justified when You judge” (Psalm 51:1-4 NIV).
Cleanse me, Lord, and restore to me the joy of Your salvation. Teach me to walk in Your ways, so that my life may honor You.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Trust and Lean on God’s Word

Prayer for Youth

Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name. Thank You, Father, for giving us Your Word, which is true and dependable (John 17:17). Your Word lights up our path and helps us make the right choices (Psalm 119:105). Thank You for reminding us that even when everything else changes, Your Word will never pass away (Luke 21:33).

Father, help us as young disciples to trust in You and follow what the Bible teaches, even when life feels confusing or uncertain. Keep our hearts strong and steady through faith in Jesus and confidence in Your truth.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Divine Gifts Are Found in Jesus

Prayer for Youth

Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name. Thank You for giving us Jesus, our true friend and Savior. I pray for every young person—especially those who feel restless, confused, or tired. Remind all that Jesus invites us to come to Him and find real peace and purpose (Matthew 11:28). Help all grow in the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness (Galatians 5:22). May their lives reflect Your goodness as they follow Jesus each day. In His name we pray, Amen.

Do Good to All People, Especially to the Family of Believers

Prayer

Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name. Thank You for loving us and saving us by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8). Because of Your love, we can now obey the command Jesus gave His disciples: “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another” (John 13:34–35 NIV). Lord, help us to love one another sincerely and to look out not only for our own interests but also for the interests of others (Philippians 2:4 GNT).

Father, we worship and adore You. You alone are the one true and living God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5)—the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last (Revelation 22:13). As we obey Jesus’ new command, remind us that His words affirm His earlier teachings:

“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?... Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matthew 5:44–46, 48 NIV).

Gracious Father, as disciples of Jesus, strengthen us to not grow weary in doing good. Encourage us with the hope that in due season, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. May we seize every opportunity to do good to all people—especially to those who belong to the family of believers (Galatians 6:9–10 NIV).
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.

Understanding the Value of Humility and Prayer

Prayer

Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name. Thank You, Father, for the model of humility and prayer we see in Jesus. As leaders, may we rise early to seek Your will, walk humbly with integrity, and honor those we serve. Remind us that true leadership begins at Your feet and is sustained through prayer and submission to Your Word.

Father, make our leadership joyful by uniting us in love, purpose, and humility—just as Paul urged in Philippians 2:2. Help us to lead with compassion, wisdom, and a heart that mirrors Christ.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
