Congratulations all Graduates!

JOYOUS FAITH
Luke 19:1-10; Psalm 19:9-14; John 4:13-15; Galatians 5:19-26; John 15:1-7.
The story of a rich tax collector turned philanthropist, is the story of the life transforming power of meeting Jesus Christ. Joyous faith comes when a seeker after truth discovers it in Jesus.
The transformation is not possible without the help of the Holy Spirit. This transformation will not happen unless we surrender our life to Christ. His favor and blessings cause us to have that joyous faith. We will experience miraculous things as we act out our faith. Joyous faith comes when we realize that this new person is lighter because he/she is not carrying the weight of sin. When we are forgiven and know the depth of our sin, it creates in us a well of water spring up. Zacchaeus, had an encounter with Jesus. All persons blessed to have an encounter with Jesus are transformed forever.

1. Were the crowd amazed that Jesus would have a meal with a sinner? Why?

2. What were you doing when Christ called you?

3. Who should we tell our life changing story to? Name three persons who you have not already told.

Honor your Graduates!
CHILDLIKE FAITH
Luke 18:15-17; Mark 10:16, 13-15; Matthew 18:1-5; Psalm 75:6-7; Romans 8:28-29; 14:17
Christ stated childlike faith is the requirement for entering the kingdom of God. It is the openness and trusting attitude of a child that appeals to God. We live in a world where it is perceived that to have impact you must be in charge and dominating. Society tells us we are to be aggressive, be proactive, yet the outcome belongs to God. However, growth and change to cause impact come from our childlike surrender to outside principles and circumstances. We must recognize that God the creator is in charge. We know that promotion comes only from God. What ever we are, and whatever we have it is all due to God‘s grace. Jesus blessed the children confirming their place in God. Every day we must show joyful confidence in the goodness of God.

1. What did the leaders do when children were brought to Jesus?

2. What does it take for us to gain the kingdom of God?

3. How does this lesson relate to the lesson of the Publican and the Pharisee?

The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ still prevails!

HUMBLE FAITH
Luke 18:9-14; Psalm 51:10-17; 1 Chronicles 29:11-14; Romans 3:9-12; Job 23:9-11.
For our praying to be effective we must realize that of ourselves we have no merit before a holy God. When we pray it is not our righteousness that impresses God. It is our humility. Humble faith gets God’s mercy. We all need His mercy. Keep in mind what the scriptures show that no one has continuously done right. We cannot boast about our righteousness. We must acknowledge our shortcomings before a God who sees all. Our secret sins, biases and preferences are all open before God. This alone reminds us to be humble when we pray. Why should God smirk at us for our folly in thinking we are better because of one or two righteous habits. God knows our thoughts before we think them. God knows the way we take and if we acknowledge our sins we shall come forth as pure gold.

1. What was the Publican’s prayer?

2. What should we consider when praying for abundant blessings?

3. How do we know God is at the center of a stirring public prayer?

SAYING THANKS
Luke 17:11-19; Isaiah 59:1- 4; Matthew 9:20-22; Luke 15:17-22.
Thankfulness is one mark of the believer. Of the ten l***rs who were cleansed, one was made whole. To be whole is more than replaced or healed. It means to put things back the way they should be. Our faith in Christ makes us whole. Salvation puts us back the way we once were with God. It was our sin that brought the separation. When we say thank you Jesus, we are doing what the l***r did. We are giving praise to the one who made us whole. The l***rs were separated and ostracized from normal social interactions. They stood far off and asked for help. Without touching them, Christ commanded them to show themselves to the priest. They were cleansed as they went toward the priest. They were acting in faith believing the work was already done. This one of nine gave thanks and praise to the one who made it possible. Every believer should share with others the faith that makes them whole.

1. Why was the race of the thankful l***r important?

2. What caused those l***rs to receive their healing?

3. Is God healing the same way today? If so, what are the requirements?

INCREASED FAITH
Luke 17:1-10; Hebrews 11:6; Romans 1:17-19; Mark 10:25-27; 11:22-25.
Genuine faith is very different from situational or circumstantial faith. Genuine faith is always in, or toward God. It is genuine faith that says; the outcome doesn’t matter my faith is in God. This real faith grows through our experiences with God. King David’s faith that he would destroy the giant Goliath was based on his previous experience of God’s deliverance from a lion and a bear. So, our faith grows from situations requiring faith beyond our present faith capacity. No tests, no growth in our faith. Offenses must come, yet the apostles requested Christ increase their faith to make them capable of forgiving multiple offenses and continually forgive. Trespasses come to help us grow our faith. Offenses are necessary to enhance and grow our faith. Expect offenses, forgive them and forget them to have peace and joy.

1. What is a trespass?

2. How should we respond to trespasses against us?

3. Where do we get our faith to believe in favorable outcomes?

FAMILY REUNION
Luke 15:11-24; Matthew 5:16; Isaiah 55:7; Ephesians 2:8-13; 1 John 1:9.
Compassion is a desire to help ease the hardship or pain. It is the love source. It cannot be faked. It motivates us to reduce the tensions created by another person’s circumstances. Forgiving another is the first act of compassion that allows us to see and act on the need. A father yearns to be reunited with his children. This is how God our Father sees us. When we repent for our errors, sins and mistakes, our Father quickly forgives and restores us. The father in this parable gladly restored his wasteful son because he loved him. When we have wasted our spiritual resources, if we can admit to our choices and return to God, He will abundantly pardon. God made us for the purpose of doing good. This is the light the world will see and glorify God our Father.

1. What did the younger son decide to do with his inheritance?

2. Can you describe a time when compassion overwhelmed you?

3. Which son most resembles redemption and why?

You have a story to tell. Tell it often!

A SOUND MIND
Luke 8:26-36; Mark 9:21-29; Acts 4:29-33; Romans 10:11-15; Philippians 2:1-11.
Demons are real. However, Jesus is Lord of all. His power and authority is recognized an inspires fear and reverence. Our lesson helps us understand that to be the representatives of Christ requires our preparation. The Apostles followed Christ three years to be able to walk in kingdom authority. Salvation is in a moment, but discipleship takes time. For this reason, God established a hierarchy in His church. After being saved we must be taught our family’s history and how to preach and alert all people that Jesus Christ our King is Lord of all. Demonic strongholds can only be broken by heavenly kingdom authority. This is not tongue talking, this is holy Ghost power. We believers are invested with this power and must learn how, when and where to use it. Witnessing is a basic gospel presentation. It is planting a seed for the harvest. For how can they hear without a preacher?

1. What was the condition of the demoniac before his deliverance?

2. Should money or material possessions keep us from serving and ministering?

3. What does your local congregation need to begin or strengthen its deliverance ministry?

Our mission, preach the gospel of Jesus Christ!

A REVERSAL OF SHAME
Luke 7:36-50; 19:5-10; Acts 4:12; 2:38; 10:39-45; 2 Peter 3:9-11.
True believers in Jesus Christ no longer put up barriers due to differences in lifestyle, race or ethnicity. Our lesson focuses on the scope of the gospel. It is to all people and kindred and tongues. All who acknowledge and repent of their sins receive the gift of salvation. Our mission as the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is to ensure that all who can be saved will be saved. Christ’s Church includes every congregation where He is preached and His cause advanced, no matter the denomination.

1. Jesus forgave the sinner woman. Why was that so amazing to the Pharisee?

2. Can you recall a person who was previously a known doubter and was forgiven?

3. How should your church minister to persons coming out of abominable addictions?
