II Kings 17:33 They feared the Lord, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.

My Thought: Fearing God without or minus obedying God is WORTHLESS.

II Kings 17:39 But the Lord your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies. Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner. So these nations feared the Lord, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.

Exodus 5:22-23 So Moses returned to the LORD and said, “Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.

Thought: We know that later in Exodus God sent plagues to convince Egypt to gratefully let them go. We see later that God parted the red sea, gave them water from a rock, sent bread from heaven, and defeated armies for Israel. But right now, their vision can only see the immediate issues. There is a bigger picture. GOD WILL GET THE GLORY. But God has patience and it may not happen in the immediate and in an obvious way. We CAN give God glory by being obedient, counting it all joy, and by having a good ATTITUDE WHILE GOING THROUGH difficult times. There is a bigger picture other than what's happening right now.

II Timothy 4:2-5
Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Thought: It's "nice" and it can be encouraging to get a positive response from people when doing or saying as God has instructed us, BUT we don't obey God based on conditions and we shouldn't be more willing or more excited about obeying God because we get a pleasant response.

Hosea 14:2 Take words with you, and return to the LORD. Say to Him, ‘Take away all iniquity; receive us graciously, for we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.’

Stuff our pockets, purses, and backpacks with WORDS OF REPENTANCE so when we go before God we can take them out and give them humbly to Him.

Exodus 3:6 Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

My Thought: Adam and Eve hid themselves from God and were afraid after they sinned. Even Isaiah and Ezekiel have this dropping/fearful response ... but the sacrificial covering blood of Jesus allows us to step into His presence boldly in prayer as joint heirs and no longer servants.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Galatians 4:7 NKJV Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Romans 8:15-17 (NKJV) For you did not receive the spirit of bo***ge again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Hebrews 10:19-20 (NKJV) Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,
by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,
