My wife Judy Wood led the stake conference choir on Sunday.

We had created a list of possible choir members in Fremont Stake to contact to assemble the choir for last Sunday, and I would like to help her get the names of singers to contact for the newly consolidated Fremont Stake for any future use.

Tapestry: Weaving the Community of Dance is a wonderful event that welcomes dance groups from the community to the Oakland Temple Hill auditorium for a shared performance. This annual concert features professional dance companies, student dance companies, and youth dance groups from the Bay Area. The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.

We just got a call from the City of Hayward's Emergency Services Officer. They are conducting a disaster drill and are wanting to simulate a reunification/reaction effort following a major earthquake. They are looking for 30 or more people to come out and be actors in the drill. We wouldn't need to do anything other than follow instruction and act a little dazed and lost.

The drill will be Wednesday 11/3/2021 from 10am-2pm at Tennyson Park in Hayward. The city will provide lunch for everyone that participates. Families are welcome (bring children and babies). Pets are welcome (in fact they would love to simulate processing pets). There is a need for participants with many language backgrounds

It will be a good opportunity to learn about how our community plans to react in a major emergency. Good information, good community, good to be involved.

Our Stake Relief Society President, along with two of our missionaries, met this morning with the Principal, Vice Principal and Parent Outreach Worker from Cherryland Elementary School and presented them with 200 backpacks with supplies from the RS service project. Today is Cherryland’s walk through orientation day and they will distribute the backpacks to needy children in their school.
