This is the Word for today’s Believers!
“If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.”
2 John 1:10–11
We are defined not only by what we accept, but also by what we reject. In a generation that often confuses tolerance with wisdom, many have become so open-minded that they have lost the ability to discern truth from deception.
There is wisdom in having a teachable spirit, but there is also danger in entertaining every voice, doctrine, and philosophy that opposes the Word of God. No person in their right mind would keep an open mind about which poison to drink. In the same way, we cannot casually entertain teachings that corrupt the soul and pull people away from Jesus Christ.
The Apostle John was not speaking about refusing people with love or compassion. He was warning believers not to embrace or partner with false teachings that deny the truth of Christ. Love without truth becomes compromise. And truth without love becomes harshness. But Jesus walked in both grace and truth.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
1 John 4:1
We are living in a time where discernment is desperately needed in the Body of Christ. Not everything that sounds spiritual is from the Holy Spirit. Not every open door is from God. The enemy often disguises deception in attractive words, emotional experiences, and half-truths.
“For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.”
2 Corinthians 11:14
