ਪਿਛਲੇ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ , ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਫ੍ਰੀਮਾਂਟ ਨੇ ਮਾਣ ਨਾਲ 9ਵਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਜੌਹਰ-ਏ-ਤੇਗ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਗਤਕਾ ਦਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ, ਨਿਊ ਜਰਸੀ, ਇੰਡਿਆਨਾ, ਸਰੀ (ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਕੋਲੰਬੀਆ) ਅਤੇ ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ ਤੋਂ 300 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਗਤਕਾ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਜੌਹਰ-ਏ-ਤੇਗ ਖਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ ਐਲਾਨ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੀ 40ਵੀਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇਗੰਢ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ, ਪਛਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਲਸਾਈ ਜਜ਼ਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਇਸ ਇਕੱਠ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਵਧ ਗਈ।
ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਗਤ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਾਹਨਾ ਮਿਲੀ। ਹੁਨਰ, ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ, ਦਲੇਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਡ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਜੌਹਰ-ਏ-ਤੇਗ ਨੂੰ ਗਤਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਮੀਰ ਜੰਗਜੂ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ਉਤਸਵ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਦਾਇਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਉਹ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਗਿਆਸਾ ਨਾਲ ਗਤਕੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਜੌਹਰ-ਏ-ਤੇਗ ਵਰਗੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਜੰਗੀ ਕਲਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਤੱਕ ਸੀਮਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ—ਇਹ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਗਤਕਾ ਸਿੱਖਣ, ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ ਅਤੇ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਸ਼ਸਤਰਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਪਿਆਰ, ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਰੇ ਲੰਗਰ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਅਣਥੱਕ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ, ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਲਈ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਪਕਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਵੰਨਗੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤਾਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਕਾਮ ਸੇਵਾ, ਸਮਰਪਣ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਨਵਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੰਗਰ ਦੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਅਰਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਲਈ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ।
ਸਾਡਾ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਗਤਕਾ ਦਲ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਗਤਕਾ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ, ਕੋਚਾਂ, ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ, ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ, ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰਾਂ, ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸੰਗਤ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ, ਸਮਰਪਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ 9ਵਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਇੰਨੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਬਣਿਆ।
ਅਰਦਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੀਏ, ਜੋ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ, ਬਾਣਾ, ਗਤਕਾ, ਸ਼ਸਤਰ ਵਿਦਿਆ, ਸੇਵਾ, ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਲਸਾਈ ਜਜ਼ਬੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ
9th Annual -E-Teg — A Spectacular Celebration of Sikh Martial Heritage
This past weekend, Gurdwara Sahib Fremont proudly hosted the 9th Annual Jauhar-e-Tegh, organized by California Gatka Dal, bringing together more than 300 Gatka players from California, New Jersey, Indiana, Surrey (BC), and Toronto.
This year’s Jauhar-e-Tegh was dedicated to the 40th anniversary of Khalistan Declaration Day, adding special significance to a gathering centered on Sikh heritage, identity, and the spirit of the Khalsa.
The event was very well received and deeply appreciated by the Sangat and participating teams. The spectacular display of skill, discipline, courage, and sportsmanship made Jauhar-e-Tegh a memorable celebration of Gatka and the rich Sikh martial tradition.
Most inspiring was seeing so many young children watching the performances with excitement and curiosity. Events like Jauhar-e-Tegh go far beyond showcasing martial skills—they inspire the next generation to learn Gatka, connect with Sikh history and heritage, and develop a love and passion for traditional Sikh Shastars.
A special appreciation and heartfelt Dhanvaad to all the Langar sewadars, who worked tirelessly throughout both days to prepare and serve a wonderful variety of delicious dishes for the players, guests, and Sangat. Their selfless seva, dedication, and hospitality truly reflected the Sikh spirit of Seva and Langar and played an important role in making the event a memorable experience for everyone.
Our sincere appreciation also goes to California Gatka Dal, all participating Gatka teams and players, coaches, organizers, volunteers, sewadars, parents, and the entire Sangat whose dedication and support made this 9th annual event such a great success.
May we continue creating opportunities that connect our younger generations with Gurbani, Bana, Gatka, Shastar Vidya, Seva, Sikh history and heritage, and the spirit of the Khalsa.
