Sermon A Bold Proclamation Acts 17:16-31

The Apostle Paul brought the Gospel to the Gentiles. In our first lesson Paul bravely proclaimed the truth about the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope that we have in Him.

The proclamation that Jesus is risen means life for you! His glorious resurrection provides the proof that His promises can be trusted. Jesus, risen from the dead, means you can be certain that you, by God’s grace through faith in Him, will also rise to life with Him eternally.

Please join us at church or online as we share the story of the Apostle Paul’s bold proclamation about our risen Savior.

Blessings,
Pastor Shoemaker

Mother’s Day is often viewed as a sacred opportunity to recognize the spiritual and nurturing contributions of mothers. As Christians and people of faith, motherhood is seen as a God-given calling (their vocation) that shapes families and communities, reflecting God’s love and the day encourages reflection on the faith, patience, and sacrifices of mothers, emphasizing that their work, though sometimes unnoticed, is valued by God

SERMON One Savior, One Way John 14:6

We know God loves all people and wants all people to be in heaven. When Jesus tells us no one can be saved except through Him, He is showing us that all people can be saved through Him because He is the Way, the Truth and the Life for all people. Jesus died for all. That is the ultimate act in embracing all people. The sins of all have been paid in full. No one is excluded. The gift of eternal life in the name of Jesus Christ is free to all.

Thanks be to God that He has called us to be His own, to live under Him in His kingdom and serve Him in everlasting righteousness, innocence and blessedness. We live secure in the knowledge that we are the Lord’s and that Jesus is the Way and the Truth and the Life.

Please join us this Sunday online or at church as we proclaim Jesus’ message that He is the way, and the truth, and the life.

Easter Blessings,
Pastor Shoemaker

Join us Sunday, Sept. 12 at 9am for our live streamed service. In today’s readings, Jesus encounters another person possessed by an unclean spirit. The young man’s father is distraught and desperate. The father utters these words: “I believe; help my unbelief!” Jesus does help the man’s unbelief by healing his son. Jesus helps our unbelief as well in all that He does. In His miracles and teaching, suffering and death, resurrection and ascension, Jesus calls us to faith. And He calls us to be His witnesses. Each of his acts involves the spoken word…using the tongue to respond and to share the message.

Its Grandparent's Day this Sunday, September 5, 2021 and the 15th Sunday after Pentecost. Make sure you celebrate your grandparent's!

Our Old Testament reading opens with the word “anxious.” A word that describes how we live many days even though we know that anxiety is worrying about things we can’t do anything about. Then James encourages us toward good works of service and love. Our faith in Jesus is shown by our modeling His love and service as we serve in our vocations by loving our neighbors. Perhaps one could say that service to others relieves anxiety about life.

And as you celebrate your grandparents, ease their anxiety about you and your life, and their own concerns by reminding them that Jesus is the calmer, the giver of life, the giver of love and the giver of our forgiven sins.

Today, August 29, 2021, the 14th Sunday after Pentecost, we see the importance of God’s Word in our lives. We must LISTEN to God’s Word knowing that it is the sword of the Spirit, a portion of the armor of God we are given and told to put on. Then we must DO what God’s word tells us and KEEP the Word in how we live our lives for Christ.

This Sunday the message is "Time Is On My Side." As we approach the end of another lake season, perhaps it is time for us to think about what the season meant to us. Perhaps it is even time to understand why the Lord has blessed us with such a marvelous time and even more, the time to be together with family and friends...or, just the time to truly rest, relax, even meditate on the glories God surrounds us with each today. Maybe it is even time to truly think about what understanding God has given to each of us, "And we know that the Son of God has come and given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life."

Join us in church at 9am or click on the live streaming of the service from our website or from Facebook. We look forward to seeing and hearing from you. God bless your week.

Today we consider why we follow Jesus. In the Gospel, we see many people stop following Jesus because His words offend them. When Jesus asks the disciples if they want to stop following Him as well, Peter answers, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” Not only does Jesus have the words of eternal life, but He also gives us the food of eternal life—His body and blood.

We know that when we pray the Lord’s prayer and ask Him to “Give us this day our daily bread,” we know that is for our body’s needs. Yet, He also granted us himself as the Bread of Life, so that our spiritual self may be fed. Elijah, an Old Testament prophet, stood up for God then by killing the false prophets and was pursued by the evil king. He became tired of running and hungry and finally sat under a broom tree for shade. He then asked God to take him—to allow him to die—but the Lord had other plans. Food and drink were provided for him upon his awaking and an angel restored his downtrodden soul.
