What an amazing turnout we had at McDonald’s last night for the Immanuel Youth Groups. I want to give a big thank you to Heather and her husband who managed the drive-through from 5 to 8. They sold so many cookies with many of youth. We sold 801 Cookies which was 267 packs! Emily Kubtazke and Max Bamberg did a phenomenal job selling every last cookie! I’m so proud of the kids that showed up and worked so hard last night. We did over $250 in cookie sales. Great job everyone. Thankful for the support. We were so busy I did not get any pictures.

Thank you to everyone that donated for our SHINE Event. We were able to put together 90 boxes with items supplied. Appreciate the support from Immanuel. We need a few items to complete some of the boxes. If you wanting to help we can use balloons packs, and whisks. You may drop in the church office or I can pick up. Thank you

Last Thursday we had JR Youth and I did a thanksgiving feast for them. Thank you to Sullivans for catering they loved the food. We talked about being thankful, who we are thankful for, and traditions we do with our families for Thanksgiving. We did a game with skittles:)
Red- person
Orange- a place
Green- memory or experience
Yellow- a thing
Purple- skill or something about yourself.

I then had each person circle the one that stuck out to them the most.
Each youth was then given a stack of sticky notes and were asked to write 10 things they are thankful for! It was very neat to see how thankful we are. I then asked all to put them on the white board. As you can see it was covered! I asked them was it easy or hard to do. Few said it was easy, others said it was difficult to do being put on the spot. I’m so thankful I am able to be a Christian leader to them. I gave each youth a note on why I was thankful for them! They are a great group of kids.

Yearly request:
Parents of trick-or-treaters this year...
If you have SO much candy and don't know what to do with it, send it to church! You would be amazed at how much sugar it takes to make Middle and High school students tick, and we can use every extra Hershey or SweetTart that we can get.
Sincerely,
Youth Directors Everywhere :)

Yesterday, approximately 30 Jr. Youth joined our gathering. During our devotions, we focused on fostering friendships, a theme that brings along various aspects. We typically divide the attendees into two groups: 5th and 6th graders, and 7th and 8th graders. On that day, I, along with an 8th-grade parent named Ashley, led the younger group, while Pastor and a parent of a 5th grader named Karen took charge of the 7th and 8th graders.

To kick things off, I distributed cups of M&Ms to each group. Once we gave the signal to start, the youth had to sort the M&Ms by color with as little talking as possible. In the younger group, we noticed they initially split into smaller clusters, but eventually, they realized it was more efficient to gather at the counter, pour out their M&Ms, and sort them together. At the beginning, it was a bit challenging with minimal communication, but by the end, they had it figured out.

When we reconvened, we discussed their experience. They acknowledged that it was indeed challenging with limited talking but found it easier due to the smaller group. Some even suggested it might be more interesting with a larger group, something we might consider in the future. My aim is always to incorporate games or activities that complement our devotions.

We also delved into the idea of whether disagreements and conflicts could arise when working with a group of people, similar to friendships where disagreements can occur. The participants seemed to thoroughly enjoy this discussion. The 7th and 8th graders also did well with their activity, showing strategic thinking. The younger group impressed me with their discussion, and I was able to hear some of the 7th and 8th graders share their thoughts, which was equally impressive.

Additionally, each group wrote down what they liked about their Christian friends and what they would look for in such a friend if they hadn't found one yet. Their responses were astounding, with some sharing more than one thing. We read from the Bible and had the youth take turns in prayer. Special thanks to Lucas, who prayed for the older group, and Cora, who led the younger group in prayer.
