Week 1 and Week 2 of our Pantry Bag project with Freeport Area Church Cooperative and St. John United Church of Christ. Week 1, your donations helped us pack 12 bags. This week, we packed SIXTEEN!!

Every Wednesday, we'll be packing!
Our goal is to create at least ten (10) Pantry Bags every week, but we know more is needed! If you'd like to support our weekly food pantry bag collection, please consider purchasing the items and placing them in the collection boxes ast St. John UCc. We thank you for your generosity and support in these difficult times!

Each FACC Food Pantry bag contains:
1 can of 18+ oz “Hearty” soup – or – 2 cans 10+ oz “Condensed” soup
1 14 oz can of vegetables
1 28 oz can of Beans (not green)
1 12+ oz box of Breakfast Cereal
1 14 oz can of fruit
1 5 oz can of tuna / corned beef / chicken
1 16 oz jar of Peanut Butter
1 18 oz jar of Jelly
1 Small bag (1 lb) of White rice
1 24 oz jar Spaghetti Sauce
1 Box ( 1lb) of Spaghetti
1 15 oz Canned Pasta
1 4-unit pack of Easy Mac – or – 1 box of Mac & Cheese

During November, help HELIX collect personal care supplies for youth in need! Donations will stock the Community Care Cupboard on West Eby Street (next to Carl Sandburg School), for youth to take throughout the year as needed.

HELIX starts our new school year next Wednesday, 8/28! All 5th-8th graders are welcome to join in our free weekly after school program. We eat snacks, play games, share how we're doing, and work on social and emotional skills to help with school and life.

The school year might have ended, but our Community Care Cupboard is still stocked and open for business throughout the summer! The cupboard currently has menstrual products, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, dental care products, and more. Find it on West Eby Street (near Carl Sandburg, next to St. John UCC) and take anything you may need.

HELIX was thrilled to welcome Hoo Haven Events to give a presentation to our youth a few weeks ago! We enjoyed meeting some feathery (and fluffy, and scaly) friends. Check out their summer events if you need some fun on your family's calendar.
