The worship service will be lay-led by Harriet Arnold and will begin at 10:30 a.m. You can participate in person or on Zoom; the link can be found at

We’re excited to announce that Long Island Author/illustrator Angela Classi will be coming to SNUUC to discuss her new children’s book Vivi A-Z at the New York Public Library. On Sunday, June 7 at 12 noon there will be a short presentation and talk about her inspiration, a real life little girl named Viviani, who was born and raised in a hidden apartment inside the NYPL. (Her father was the building’s engineer.) Original illustrations will be on display and book will be available for signing. All are welcome at this free event.

We hope you’ll join us tomorrow morning--Sunday, May 24--for a worship service led by Rev. Dr. Sushmita Mukherjee. You're welcome in person or on Zoom at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Sushmita’s work draws on Eastern and Western myths, earth-based traditions, Taoism, Sufism and Perennial Philosophy. Her topic tomorrow: “Shadow Knows the Way:
On negotiated ground, shadow’s dignity, and the discipline of staying awake.“ Reflect with her on the devil that accompanies St. Nicholas in alpine midwinter, and the plaintive notes of a Rajasthani street vendor in New Delhi midsummer. What is the thread that vibrates between them? Come and explore with us the themes of shadow, myth and what it means to not go back to sleep.

Is it possible for us to nourish the world? That’s the question we’ll explore this Sunday at SNUUC, when Rev.Sharon Pataky’s sermon will address “Bread for a Hungry World.” Beginning with the nurturing dimension of mothering, she’ll speak about Henri Nouwen’s image of a life chosen, blessed, broken and given in love. Join us at SNUUC at 10:30 a.m. or participate via Zoom. The link can be found at snuuc.org/worship.

We hope you’ll join us tomorrow morning for Rev. Rachel Hollander’s reflections on Mother’s Day. She will be offering a larger view of what can be a complicated day for some of us. ”From different religious perspectives to the language we use everyday, to the ultimate Awakening of discovering the Mother that lives within each of us, and for each of us.” The Ohio-based Rev. Rachel is a multi-talented minister, writer, podcaster, teacher—and more. Services at SNUUC begin at 10:30 a.m.; join us on Zoom via snuuc.org/worship.

This Sunday at SNUUC Rev Carol Huston’s topic will be “More Love.” Here’s what she has to say: “I am enjoying preaching in a place where I can be in dialogue with other preachers. In the winter I heard people talking about protests and gave my own sermon about that. Now we are talking about love, a good thing for spring.” After early work as a special education teacher and as an arts administrator, Rev. Carol Huston found Unitarian Universalist ministry as the culminating career for her life. Join us in person at 10:30 on Sunday morning or on Zoom via snuuc.org//worship. All are welcome!
