Kidzlink is our Children's Ministry at Crossroads Community Church where we are equipping children to love God and impact their world for Christ.

Jesus showed that God made us with worth, as seen in this week’s Bible story from Matthew 19 and Mark 10. People were bringing their children to Jesus, hoping He would bless them. But when the disciples rebuked them, Jesus grew upset. He invited the children to come to Him, saying that the kingdom of God belongs to them. Kids can know that God made them with worth right here and now. Find times this week to tell your kids, “You are so loved and valued!” Do this at random times (not when your kids do something special) so kids know their value is not in what they do but who they are.

This week, take 1 day to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them: What do you want to do and who do you want to be when you grow up? How can God help you now and in the future to live out who you are meant to be?

Our Game Changer Bible story from Psalm 139 taught kids that God leads us to true identity. A king named David wrote that God knows everything about us because He made us. God leads us to true identity because He knows who we are and who we are meant to be. At mealtimes this week, talk about all the different things that make members of your family special. Remind family members that God knows them and leads them to be who He made them to be.

Take time today to pray as a family—talk and listen to God. Pray these four things:

1. Thank God that He designed you for a purpose.
2. Ask God to help you live, serve, trust, and love like Jesus.
3. Pray for each other to live out the purpose God has for you.
4. Choose one or two other people to pray for—that they would know the incredible purpose God has for their lives and how much He loves them.

In this week’s Bible story, Jesus taught that people who follow Him are to love even when it costs them something and even if they are not shown love and kindness in return. Jesus taught that we are to even love our enemies. Kids learned that Jesus is our example of how to love. As you are out and about this week, talk about times when it is hard to love others and times when it is easy. Help your kids see that they can love like Jesus, even when it is hard.

Gather some paper and pencils, then pair family members together. One will be the “artist” and the other will be the “guide.” The artists will close their eyes and try to draw something (like a house or bicycle) based only on the guides’ verbal instructions. Switch roles and play again. Share that, like the artist trusted the guide, we can trust God like Jesus did.
