With the blizzard keeping us home today, let's focus on deepening our connection with faith and community using resources from MCUSA for the fourth Sunday of Lent.
Journey with us through Lent at Home 2026 🌿
Week 4 (March 15–21): Submission and Power
This upcoming week, we’re invited to center our trust in Christ above every earthly power.
As we enter the tension of Jesus’ trial in John 18:28–40—where political leaders question him and the crowd chooses Barabbas—we’re called to reflect on where we place our trust. Jesus declares his kingdom is “not of this world,” reshaping our understanding of power, authority, and allegiance.
We pray: “Jesus, sometimes we place our trust in leaders and other things instead of you. Forgive us. Draw us closer to you. Amen.”
Light three candles this week, remembering that Christ’s reign is not built on domination, but on surrendering love. Gather with your congregation or loved ones, asking God to realign your heart with the humble, upside-down kingdom of Jesus.
