Jerseyville UMC

Jerseyville UMC Jerseyville United Methodist Church is working to grow disciples of Jesus Christ. Jesus welcomed people from every race, color, ethnicity, and LGBTQ+.

He welcomed sinners, the poor, homeless, depressed, wealthy, angry, joyful, frightened, confused - us. Jerseyville UMC is located just south of the intersection of Howell Road and State Route 33. Close neighbors, WaWa and BP Gas, have made it pretty easy for us to help people who stop by asking for a tank of gas or a meal. IN-PERSON WORSHIP SERVICE, Sundays, 12 - 1pm,

MINISTRIES: sharing our facilities with another church who cannot afford their own building, feeding & clothing homeless participants of the Freehold Clergy Association's Emergency Housing Program for Men, delivering food/clothing to Joshua House, Open Door, & Casa Freehold pantries. We support FulFil (formerly Monmouth-Ocean Foodbank). Built in 1869, Jerseyville is known locally as "the little church among the pines."

Thank you to everyone who was able to be with Jerseyville UMC for the 4pm Christmas Eve Service held jointly with our sister congregation, Foundational Truth Bible Study Ministries!

We thank the Lord for His safe travel blessings on the young couple who drove 500 miles to make it here to be with Mom for the holiday! We also ask for the same safety on their return-trip home.

We pray for comfort for those of us who have lost loved ones this year and are struggling to find any joy in the holidays.

We ask God to send healing to those of us who are fighting short-term and long-term illness.

Help us to commit to feeding those living right among us who are hungry; providing clothing to those without warm winter gear; finding good shelter to those without it.

Finally we ask Jesus to send His peace and rest to all of us who are just plain weary and exhausted from our busy, crazy, worried lives. Amen

Since 2005 my family, my church and the other churches, synagogues, and Islamic centers in the western part of Monmouth County, NJ have supported this Emergency Housing and Advocacy Program winter overnight housing project for homeless men. Please read the post I'm sharing about the Holiday Party held for them this past Tuesday. It meant so much to the guys !

We assist, empower, and educate individuals who are homeless in securing housing and other benefits

Jerseyville will again celebrate Christmas in July this coming Sunday, July 25th, by collecting canned and dry foods, toiletries, and paper goods for Joshua House. Mid-summer has always been one of the times food pantries really need our help, and this year they need us even more. It would be great if you could join us for the Worship Service at 12pm and bring a gift of food for Joshua House ! If you can't join us but want to drop off a food gift for Joshua House, please feel free to leave it just inside the church's front door or on the front porch any time between 10am and 1pm on Sunday. Thank you ! πŸŽ†πŸŽ„πŸ™πŸŽ

I'm sorry for the long period of silence, but it's been a crazy three-and-a-half months.

BIG NEWS: Jerseyville began in-person worship services on Sunday, June 6th at 12pm. All of our members are fully vaccinated, but we are still wearing masks during the worship service so that we can sing together (finally!). We want to protect any visitors and our sister congregation, Foundational Truth Bible Study Ministries, with whom we share the Jerseyville building.

VISITORS ARE WELCOME, but for now masks will be required of everyone attending. If you forget your mask, don't worry as we have a supply of masks available.

YOU CAN STILL JOIN US FROM HOME IF YOU PREFER: just go to our website, https://jerseyvilleumc.org and click on the Zoom link or use one of the Zoom phone numbers to connect.
