Hey Fam!

Have you gotten your September prayer calendar yet? ❤️

If you didn’t know, we’re starting something a little different this month!

We now have three calendars:
one for Kids & Families,
one for Couples,
and one for Singles.

We’ve been focusing lately on Surrender, Seeking, Sanctification, and Sacrifice, and all three calendars follow that same theme and scriptures. The daily prompts are just different depending on which calendar you choose!

We love that we can all be part of the same church wide conversation even when our day-to-day lives might look very different.

You can still grab a paper copy at Check-In if you’re a paper calendar kind of person like Jax 😍👵🏽

We are still getting messages and phone calls about Old School Sunday 🙌

A lot of people are talking about the songs,
a lot of people are talking about the teaching on Communion,
and a lot of people are talking about how it all felt for them … the fun, the love, the stirring up parts of them that filled their hearts or brought them to tears. 💛

⭐ TOP TIER TUESDAY ⭐

🙌 Our volunteers are top tier! 🙌

Today we want to celebrate someone who's been on our hearts a lot lately.
We are missing Alvin Macklin. ❤

Many of you know that he's on a healing journey right now, which means we don't get to see him nearly as much as we'd like,
and things just aren't quite the same without him.

You might have seen him showing up and filling Easter bags for our children.
You might know him as the person who leads our prison ministry: visiting, praying with, and advocating for people who are incarcerated, while helping prepare them for healing and for a healthy and productive re-entry into their communities.

Or maybe you know his smile.
If you've been with us on a Men's Sunday, you've seen it.
Al is one of our greeters, and you really can't make it into the sanctuary without passing him first. We are not exaggerating when we say that smile of his can make you feel welcome before he even says a word.

So today, we're asking our Zion family to join us in praying for this greatly-loved man.
Pray for his strength.
Pray for his healing.
Pray for his peace.
Pray for his wife Belinda, and for their loving family.
And pray that we'll be able to see that smile of his at our door sooner rather than later. 🙏

Elder Al, we love you, we're thinking about you, and we are believing God with you.
We miss you more than you know,
and we're honored to serve alongside you. 💛
