We are starting with three youth, but we believe this is just the beginning. We look forward to seeing them grow deeper in faith and broader in love, and to welcoming more youth along the way.

Last night, we had a wonderful time with the Stafford Homeschool Collective. After learning more about their work, we had a meaningful conversation about how we can support one another and work together for the children and families in our community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to build a supportive relationship and look forward to continuing to grow together!

St. Matthias UMC is excited to restart our Youth Group for grades 6–12. Church membership is not required.

Your children matter to us. We want to provide a welcoming and caring place where youth can build friendships and grow in faith.

Another Joyful Sunday at St. Matthias! ❤️

Yesterday, we once again had the joy of celebrating and receiving new members into our St. Matthias church family—five adults as professing members and two youth as baptized members.

Looking at our new church family, I was especially grateful for the beautiful diversity God is bringing among us, from different cultures, backgrounds, and generations.

We are different in many ways, but in Christ, we belong to one another.

May St. Matthias continue to be a church where people across cultures, races, and generations worship together, grow in faith together, serve in love together, and truly become family.

Thanks be to God for what God is doing among us! 🙏

After worship yesterday, we had the joy of celebrating Helen’s 102nd birthday together as a church family.

One thing about Helen especially inspires us. Whenever we celebrate Holy Communion, she still tries to walk forward herself to receive the bread and the cup. Seeing her come to Christ’s Table with such faithfulness is always a meaningful sight.

We thank God for the love Helen has shared, the lives she has touched, and the blessing she continues to be to our St. Matthias church family.

Happy 102nd Birthday, Helen! May God continue to bless you! ❤️

Thanks for the great learning opportunity.

Thank you to the 19 churches on the Mission Rivers District who participated in the Cross Racial/Cross Cultural Training last weekend. Over 130 people attended the trainings held at Bethany Gloucester Point and Tabernacle Fredericksburg. We had a great time together as evidenced by the smiling faces of the Saint Matthias delegation!
