Our very own John LaRocque brings us the Weekly Word today!

John reminds us of Jesus’ words in Mark 12, where the Lord brings all of Scripture down to two life‑shaping commands: Love the Lord your God with all your heart… and love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus doesn’t present these as suggestions — He calls them the foundation of a faithful life.

In a world that often pulls us toward division, hurry, and self‑focus, this simple but powerful command draws us back to the heart of the Gospel. Loving our neighbor means seeing people the way Christ sees them, slowing down long enough to care, and choosing compassion even when it’s not convenient.

As we step into a new week, may we be a church that loves deeply, serves humbly, and reflects the heart of Jesus in every interaction.

Over the summer, Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bethany Lutheran Church, and Zion Lutheran are teaming up to host three movie nights, and the first one is TOMORROW! Join us in BLC’s fellowship hall to watch MOANA! We’ll have snacks, prizes, and a short family devotional!
