Kerrville’s Help and Hope for the Hill Country

We continue to pray for and support the relief efforts being made in Kerr County and through St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Kerrville, following the July 4th flooding of 2025. As we approach the one-year anniversary of this tragedy, please pray for all the victim’s families as well as the ongoing counseling, relief, and rebuilding efforts being made along the Guadalupe. Camp “Care Kits” can be purchased here for the many campers who will return to the Guadalupe and may harbor trauma and fear.

Fredericksburg Food Drive
The Central Texas Food Bank is bringing a second monthly food distribution to Fredericksburg, on the FOURTH WEDNESDAY of each month, to be held at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. Volunteers are needed for the distribution (from 8:45-11:30 a.m.). Please contact Audelia De La Cruz at the Good Samaritan Center at [email protected] to inquire.

6th-12th graders and friends! Join us this evening at the Farmer’s Market from 4-7 p.m. for cold drinks, games and fun. Look for Mr. Acton with a cooler of drinks and lawn games.

Did you know that St. Barnabas averages 219 people in attendance every Sunday, which situates us as the 8th largest church in the Diocese of West Texas (87 churches). At our parish meeting on June 7, Father Jeff spoke to the reality that our church is now considered a “Resource Congregation,” and we host over 400 meetings per year on our campus that are run by community groups (in ADDITION TO St. Barnabas ministries or initiatives). We have built $25,000 into our Operating Budget for Outreach and Inreach, and we draw upon our charitable funds every year as well to make significant donations to community organizations and initiatives.

Did you know that “Barnabas” means son of encouragement? Barnabas was given this name after he sold his family’s land in Cyprus and gave the proceeds to the growing church in Jerusalem. Barnabas’ given name was Joses, but he lived into his new name throughout his ministry as one of the Followers of the Way and his missionary journeys with Paul.
