RP! Happy birthday Pastor

37 years old today! Wow. I don’t have a long caption but Lord you certainly know. Happy birthday to me! Today (and all month long), I choose to celebrate my life. If you would like to bless me, let the Lord use you (CashApp: $CJHoyle). To be clear, I’m NOT begging for anything. I have learned however to NOT argue with blessings. *Cue the music*

This ain’t no FUNE…. This a CELEBRATE!

Fathers are gifts! We celebrate you!

Day 2 of Holy Week

”And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, and consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him. But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.“

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

AND

”And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves; and would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple. And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves. And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine. And when even was come, he went out of the city.“

‭‭Mark‬ ‭11‬:‭15‬-‭19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Significance: This day marked the beginning of the final block of teaching that Jesus would offer his disciples prior to his betrayal by Judas Iscariot. Additionally it included the cleansing of the temple AND the formation of the conspiracy to crucify Jesus. The Messiah taught and cleansed in FULL knowledge of the conspiracy being developed against Him. As we ponder his final week before crucifixion, may we be inspired to do the same. Serve….even in hostile territory! For God’s glory and for God’s story!

Day 1 of Holy Week:

”As Jesus and his disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead. “Go into that village over there,” he told them. “As soon as you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks, ‘What are you doing?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it and will return it soon.’” The two disciples left and found the c**t standing in the street, tied outside the front door. As they were untying it, some bystanders demanded, “What are you doing, untying that c**t?” They said what Jesus had told them to say, and they were permitted to take it. Then they brought the c**t to Jesus and threw their garments over it, and he sat on it. Many in the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and others spread leafy branches they had cut in the fields. Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting, “Praise God! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessings on the coming Kingdom of our ancestor David! Praise God in highest heaven!” So Jesus came to Jerusalem and went into the Temple. After looking around carefully at everything, he left because it was late in the afternoon. Then he returned to Bethany with the twelve disciples.“

‭‭-Mark‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬-‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Significance: Jesus entered into Jerusalem amid the expectations of the populous that He would deliver them from Roman rule/occupation. They expected the coronation of a king (pompous) yet Jesus entered the city on a donkey (obscure, lowly, meek). While He is King, He is a servant King not a self-seeking/centered king. He came to serve not to be served and that didn’t change because palms and praises were being offered. Jewish society expected Him to inaugurate His Kingdom in celebration yet he was prepared to inaugurate it via crucifixion and purchase the salvation of His people. Other kings used the lives of the lower class to establish and advance their kingdoms. The King of Kings however, offers his own life to establish and advance his own Kingdom. In a few days, his death will initially look like the death of a common criminal but in reality it will be THE turning point in human history. The Kingdom has come AND is coming!

For the 2nd straight week, the Lord REMEMBERED Calvary! Glory! What a wind and what a fellowship!

Simple truth:

If you want to reap differently…. SOW differently. You can’t pray away a harvest that you invited with your sowing. God is NOT mocked.

Leader,

Don’t EVER struggle with or over who won’t follow. Lead those who will. Don’t be a doormat out of desperation either. Just. Lead. Those. Who. Will.

A key indicator of spiritual growth/maturation is when your obedience consistently outpaces your emotions. Lord help us to obey BEFORE we feel, AS we feel and IN SPITE of what we feel. May our feelings catch up with our obedience.

Truth never needs a co-signer. It stands on its own and withstands on its own.

03/10/2024

Forgive, to please God first. To liberate yourself, second. To liberate the offender(s), third.

03/10/2024

Forgive those who were WILLFULLY ignorant of your value. They didn’t have to be uninformed. They chose to be. Release. Them. Anyway!
