Welcome, September! Swing wide the gates to autumn’s splendor!
The ninth month carries a beautiful sense of expectation. For mothers, nine months marks the fulfillment of pregnancy and the anticipation of a soon-coming birth. There is something sacred about waiting for what has been promised to arrive.
September also marks transition—the turning of summer toward autumn, the beginning of a new school year, and the start of the harvest season. Even the name September reminds us of its history; in the early Roman calendar, it was actually the seventh month, before January and February were added.
As we welcome this new month, we can anticipate the changes it will bring. Seasons change, circumstances shift, and time moves forward—but God remains faithful through every season.
I especially appreciate the promise found in Proverbs:
“The hope of the righteous will be gladness, But the expectation of the wicked will perish.”
Proverbs 10:28 NKJV
What a beautiful reminder that our hope is not misplaced! As we step into September, we can look forward with expectation, knowing that God is already present in the season ahead.
May we anticipate gladness, prepare for the harvest, and trust the One who holds every season in His hands.
