“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
Galatians 6:9 NLT
Don’t grow weary…God is faithful!
God’s timing doesn’t always align with ours, yet His timing is always perfect. It transcends human limitations because He is sovereign, and His plan is supreme.
In Paul’s letter to the Galatians, he encourages believers not to grow weary in doing good. Most of us don’t mind doing good for a season, but our faith is often challenged when we don’t see the results, answers, or blessings we were hoping for.
The Galatian church was a mixture of Gentile converts and Jewish believers. Some of the Jewish believers insisted that Gentile Christians follow traditional Jewish laws and customs, creating a burden that weighed heavily on the new believers.
Spiritual fatigue is real. Our walk with God is not a sprint—it is a lifelong journey. Maintaining a vibrant spiritual life can be difficult when it feels like we are simply spinning our wheels, when prayers seem unanswered, or when we cannot see the fruit of our labor. These moments create opportunities for the enemy to whisper lies, discouragement, and accusations.
Paul was a caring pastor to the believers in Galatia. He saw their sincere desire to serve the Lord while facing pressure to return to old customs and traditions. So he wrote them a letter of encouragement, reminding them to continue doing good because, at just the right time, they would reap a harvest of blessing.
I find that same encouragement refreshing for the soul today.
At just the right time—and if we do not give up—we too will reap a harvest of blessings. A harvest is not just one blessing; it is an abundance. What a powerful promise! We can look forward with confidence, knowing that as we remain faithful and refuse to grow weary, God is preparing a harvest beyond what we can see today.
Praise God for His Word! There is abundance in God’s faithfulness!
