Do you have eyes that see what's not there? Do you recognize God's invisible presence? Do you see His grace? Do you see His love? Do you see His creativity? Do you see the possibilities that lay before you?

God is with us, moving amongst us constantly. We stretch our imaginations to see Him. We look everywhere for meaning. We say we see Him in the sunrise and sunset, the woods and the shores, in animals and in people. We search for Him day and night. We expect to see Him when walking into church ... through Gospel readings, while singing songs of praise, when raising our hands in adoration jubilantly, when bowing our heads in prayer reverently. But, the truth is, we never really know when or where we’re going to encounter God.

My first thought is Holy Communion. The Bible says that Jesus tells us exactly where God can be found. Jesus said we can find Him in the Eucharist -- 'And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the remission of sins ..." (Matthew 26:26-28) It is here in the Communion meal that God becomes most intimately known and present.

When we gather in Jesus’ name in prayer, God's divine presence is there amongst us. "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20)

We find God in people. Jesus tells us -- '... Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ (Matthew 25:31-40)

Lastly -- 'He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them, “Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.” (Mark 9:35-37)

Jesus bridged the gap between humanity and a holy God through His sacrifice and resurrection. God's very nature was revealed through Jesus. For in Him (Jesus) dwells all the fullness of the Goodhead bodily ...” (Colossians 2:9)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. (1 John 5:7)

Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. (John 12:44-45)

Open the eyes of your heart. Attune yourself to God's presence. Experience Him in your daily life. 'Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!' (Psalm 105:4)

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all evermore. Amen.

Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” So He spoke this parable to them, saying:

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
~ Luke 15:1-7

Jesus describes a shepherd whose love compels him to leave his herd to find one lost sheep.

I recall a similar story I witnessed at the California Adventure amusement park across from Disneyland a couple years ago where love compelled a young mother to lose all dignity in public as she screamed in a panic the name of her lost child as she pushed a stroller with an infant inside and a five-year-old hanging tightly onto her hand ...

"A Little Girl • Gracie • Age 3 • Blonde Hair • Red Shirt"
"A Little Girl • Gracie • Age 3 • Blonde Hair • Red Shirt"
"A Little Girl • Gracie • Age 3 • Blonde Hair • Red Shirt"

She desperately sounded these words over and over again as she walked, re-tracing steps, searching high and low for her lost child. Truly, love compelled her. Love dictated her actions. Love was the driving force that drove her hard. She wouldn't give up; she couldn't give up until she found that calming peace within, knowing all was well with her child and her soul.

Lost souls cry out. Lost souls seek peace. Lost souls need Jesus. And, I suppose we are all lost sheep at times in desperate need of salvation. We cry out, we seek, but nobody these days seem to see us, hear us, or even care. We listless souls walk aimlessly hoping to be found. Why is there no concern for lost souls anymore. Saving lost souls scarcely enters into our thinking. And the truth is, there can be no soul-winning without concern.

The Bible says that souls without Christ are lost. That is a concern we should all be aware of. 'For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.' (Matthew 16:25-27)

God help us to realize that the greatest thing in this world is to bring lost souls to Jesus. Jesus died for us all, every single sheep in the flock, so that we might be redeemed. Sometimes I think we see ourselves as the one doing the rescuing instead of the one in need of rescue. We are called to be shepherds for the lost sheep. But the only way we can do this is to first recognize that we too are lost and in need of being found.

Love compels us to become ambassadors for Christ ... to share the message of God's reconciling grace with the world. We must love like Jesus. We must let Him breathe love into our hearts. We must hear His word and let His word bring inner peace. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” (John 14:27) Jesus' peace was never meant to be in the absence of struggle, trouble, hardship, heartache, or fear, but rather in the presence of love ... God's love.

So, we speak in love. We act in love. We show forth sympathy, compassion, genuine concern with love in everything we do and say. We put harshness, anger, irritation, and bitterness aside, for that will never win lost souls for Jesus.

When I would visit patients at the hospital, so many times someone would confess their sins to me. I remember one in particular who nervously confessed, "I'm in trouble. I need help. I've never had anyone to talk to who cared or listened. No one to tell me about Jesus ... how to be forgiven ... how to be saved." Think about that. Can you imagine how many more are out there, lost, who need to hear the Gospel, who yearn to hear the Good News.

Jesus calls out to lost souls. He calls them by name. He leaves the ninety-nine to find the one who has strayed. No one is beyond His reach. His voice of love is heard in our confusion, trouble, heartache, and shame. We are known and loved by Him. Each soul is precious and each is valued by our Lord and Savior.

The lost can be found and restored to a right relationship with God. Jesus lives; Jesus loves. He, is our Shepherd; we, are His sheep. That, my friends, is the Good News.

Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.
~ Luke 10:20
• • •

Rejoice, Jesus says, that your names are written in heaven, for you are enrolled in the fellowship of the saints. God has chosen you. God has redeemed you. God has recorded your precious name in His Book of Life. There's no escaping Him. Those who truly believe in Him and have asked forgiveness for their sins, will be saved. 'For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Eternal salvation is yours through God’s divine grace. By this, you can rest assured that you are securely known and loved by God.

There is a story about a farmer who had so many children, he ran out of names, so he started naming his kids after things around the farm. The farmer’s youngest children were a set of twins, a boy and a girl. The first day of school began, and the teacher asked each child their name. When she got to one of the farmer’s twins, the boy replied, “Wagon Wheel.” The teacher said, “I need your real name, young man,” to which the boy replied, “It’s Wagon Wheel, mam, really.” The teacher, in a huff, said, “All right, young man, since you won’t tell me your real name, you can march yourself right down to the principal’s office this minute!” The boy got out of his chair, turned to his twin sister and said, “Come on, Chicken Feet, she ain’t gonna believe you, neither!”

Our names are important to us. Our names give us our identity, and hearing our name is probably one of the sweetest sounds we know. It somehow gives us value and special meaning whether it was chosen for a biblical meaning, a family connection, or after a close friend or someone famous. Your name may be popular or unpopular, but always unique. It describes you; it's solely yours. And, someone thought long and hard before giving you your name.

I remember being in the hospital after giving birth to my second child. The curtain was drawn between my roommate and I. As I held and admired my baby girl, I could hear my roommate crying. I asked her if she was ok. She said yes, but her weeping wouldn't stop. "Are you sure you're ok" I asked again. She told me that she wanted to name her little boy John Michael, but her mother objected because there was already a John Michael in the family. "Name him Michael John" her mother insisted, "but not John Michael!" The young mother was crushed. The name she and her husband had chosen was rejected by someone she looked up to most. I thought for a moment then said, "You know ... not to be disrespectful to your mom, but this little guy is yours. I say, name him what you like." Through light sobs she said, "That's what my husband said, but my mom will be upset with us." I replied, "But, your mom got to name you, didn't she? Doesn't it seem only fair that you should have that same privilege?"

Before we are born, we are each known and claimed by God and our identity is securely registered in heaven in the Book of the Lamb. (Revelation 21:27) God remains with us. His grace rescues, holds, and claims us whether we are at our lowest depth or highest height. The One who knows us best is the One who loves us most. We can always find refuge in the presence of God. He hides not. We can rest in God's very being. We are known through and through by God; and yes, He knows our name. We are chosen, loved, and remembered ...

Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine. (Isaiah 43:1)

We are all created by God. We are all children of God. Indeed, we are each God's beloved children. Psalm 139 confirms this and pours a healing balm into our hearts, strengthening our spirits and encouraging our souls ...

'For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You. When I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.'

Jeremy Troxler, a Methodist pastor, once told a story about a cemetery he visited in the Channel Islands. The cemetery is dedicated to soldiers who died during World War II. But according to Troxler, no one knows exactly who is buried there. No birth dates or death dates are written on the headstones. No names are given. Yet inscribed across each gravestone is the description “Known by God.” That is the name that ultimately matters the most -- the One Known by God. And, each of us are known by God ...

'O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.' (Psalm 139:1-2)

Personally, I'd like to think that God, who knows every detail of my life, would choose to see me at my best. I'd like to think that God dwells in those places of love in my life and that He chooses to see only the goodness that exists therein where joy, love, peace, and hope abound.

Jesus calls us by name. God knows each of us by name. May we all come to know Him as He fully knows each of us. In doing so, our lives will be blessed beyond measure. We shall always be known by God.

Looking ahead, schools in our community will end in a couple of weeks for Summer break, while other schools in California may extend their end date into the beginning days of June. Regardless, kids everywhere are looking forward to a good rest-filled, fun-filled Summer vacation whether engaging in outdoor adventures, scenic or calming relaxation, or other family activities. Granted, it's been well over sixty years since I've felt the wonder and excitement of those school days. But then, I look at the youth in our church and marvel at the fact that they have sixty or more years ahead of them to explore the thousands upon thousands of experiences and ideas that will show them what is real in life, what is most important in life, and what brings joy in their life.

There’s a story I’d like to share about a man who lived out in the country many years back, named John. One day he was on his way to church, one of those small, white churches with the steeple. Many in the small town he lived in would walk to church each Sunday, and on this day, he came across a man in the town. Now, this man was new to the area, had just moved in, and was very sophisticated, more so than most of the people that lived there. But beyond that, he was also this free-thinking kind of man who happened to be agnostic.

This sophisticated man asked him, “Where are all of you going?”

John said to him, “Well, we’re going to church, to worship God. It’s Sunday.”

The agnostic said back to him, “Oh, I see. Is the God you’re all going to worship a great God? Or is He a little God?” A derogatory, mocking kind of remark.

Well, John said, quite humbly, back to him, “He’s both.”

“Both?”

“Yes, sir.”

Let me get this straight, both great and little?”

“Yes. He’s so great that the heavens of heaven cannot contain Him. And He’s so little, that He can dwell within my heart.”

Indeed, profoundly said! We -- you and I, young and old -- can have an intimately personal relationship with our great God -- a God who knows who we are, what we think, what we do, where we go, and what we say and need. You see, our God sees each of us and is with us constantly whether in our school, our job, or our play. He knows us individually and delights in our wholeness. Never can we out-run God's love and care for us.

Summer break is intended for rest and relaxation. Rest is not wasted time. It's sacred time. It's a time for restoration and refreshment for our bodies, minds, and souls. It's well-intended, well-deserved, and all good in the eyes of God.

So, when the end of Summer comes and you get back into your regular routine, sit back and reflect on what your summer vacation taught and brought you. No matter the situations or opportunities you found yourself in or the happenings in the outside world that surrounded you, recognize that God was with you in your fun, in your rest, and in your development of becoming an even better human being than you were at the beginning of Summer. Reflect on your mental and spiritual growth. Did you remember God? Did you still maintain your relationship with Him? Did you give thanks for all that He blessed you with?

Let God's everlasting, loving, soulful nature and presence refresh, lead, and guide you. Trust Him and embrace His love for you. 'Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.' (Psalm 139:23,24)

Thou art good, and doest good.
~ Psalm 119:68
• • •

God is good.
God does good.
God is the fountain of all
goodness.

God created the world and all life in six days. Humans -- males and females -- were created on the sixth day in the image of God, setting them apart from the rest of creation. God created woman as a suitable helper for man; one flesh, one union. Marriage was designed for companionship in order to multiply and fill the earth, leading to the creation of families with mothers and children. And, it was good just as God intended. Husband and wife receive His blessings. They love and support each other in good times and in bad, and share in the care and upbringing of their children. In God all things hold together for good.

Love is communicated between husband and wife, parent and child; but a mother’s love is unlike any other in all creation. Her touch, her hug, her voice, her closeness will remain with the child she bore forever. No one will ever believe in you as much as she does. Not one sentiment will ever surpass the feelings she has for you. Her prayers for you, her motherly love for you, go farther than any words can ever express. Perhaps, the most enduring words, the most sacred words, she will ever embrace are Mama, Mommy, Mother, Mom.

A woman’s worth comes from the One who made her and gave her life. She has faults and weaknesses just like anyone else. But, she was designed by God differently, and that makes her very special. She is meant to be a partner, bridging a gap in man's incompleteness. She is a natural nurturer, has emotional intuition, and natural ability to care for others. As a mother, her job is one of the hardest in the world. She nurses you, nurtures you, trains you, and teaches you good manners and right from wrong. She deals with your ups and downs, your joys and triumphs, your hurts and discouragements, your overwhelming pressures. At times she is sure-footed and confident, and other times she appears doubtful and uncertain. But, I ask you ... who could ever take the place of a mother who gives so much of herself. She sacrifices so much for you, always putting you first. Somehow, through the grace of God, she makes it through. The Lord sustains her as she carries out the high and holy calling of motherhood. A mother’s love for her children go with her throughout her children's lives no matter the challenges, trials, and heartaches. She is a mother from beginning to end. And, a mother called by God never relinquishes her title. Not ever! Not even if the child is rebellious, harsh, cruel, impossible, or leaves her. Her heart just will not allow it ... not when she's been called by God. Truly, there is nothing like a mother's love.

If ever there was a holiday to be celebrated more than once a year, I should think it ought to be Mother's Day. Mothers deserve to be honored every day. Whatever a mother does, she does it because she's forever thinking the best for her child. Sometimes we take our moms for granted. We take her precious love for granted. We act as though she will live forever. But that isn’t true. One day, her time on this earth will end. So, love her today as though she were going to die tomorrow. Tell her that you love her. Pray for her. Give thanks for her. Why? Because the Bible says to ... "Honor your father and your mother" (Exodus 20:12) It's the 5th of God's Ten Commandments. Children/Adult Children are instructed to respect, support, and value both parents equally, highlighting the significant role of the mother. There are no exceptions. "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her." (Proverbs 31:28)

I leave you with one more insight -- a newspaper comic strip from the Family Circus editions. In this particular strip, the children are discussing babies. One of the young experts announces: "Storks don't bring babies. They come UPS!" Some of the other children have different ideas, but the best was saved for last. "Babies," said one, "are connected to their mothers by a biblical cord."

A biblical cord!! Surely as a parent, we owe it to our children to bring them up according to God's word. If we are going to be godly parents, isn't it best we be immersed in God's Word and fully committed to the calling He's given each of us and lead by example. 'And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.' (Colossians 3:17)

Thank you, God, for our Mamas, Mommys, Mothers, Moms. Truly, You are good.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
~ Proverbs 3:5
• • •

Notice what the verse says -- we are to trust with all of our heart, not our mind. And, no where does it say that trusting is going to be easy. Trusting the Lord with all your heart means there is no room for doubt. And to trust the Lord, means He is trustworthy.

My faith in knowing Him has taught me that God is faithful and that He is worthy of my trust. I know that His ways are good and that He always has my best interest at heart. The world’s ways often lead to stress, confusion, and destruction; but, the Lord's ways bring about order, peace, unity, and life.

My husband likes maps. He loves them actually and has dozens of those old-fashioned maps stuffed in the cubicles in the doors of our truck. He likes the way they unfold so he can see the whole route, the whole state. In these modern times, he likes GPS’s, too, but he often gets frustrated when he can't see the whole path, the entire route, the next turn, and the turn after that, and so on. He is forever asking me which way we're going to turn next, but I don't know. On a GPS, I can only see what's directly on the screen in front of me. The GPS voice speaks ... I trust, I follow.

Unfortunately, God doesn’t give us maps. Instead of a detailed map of our lives with all the ups and downs and all the twists and turns, God only gives us the destination. He says, 'trust me, and I will get you there. It might be through some difficult valleys, but trust me'. My perspective is limited; God is all-knowing. So, I have a choice -- to trust Him or choose my own way. Experience has taught me that trusting in the Lord will ultimately bring me peace, confidence, hope, and a sense of well-being. The more I trust in Him, the more I grow in Him. Therefore, it is God’s map, God’s plans, and God’s compass I trust and follow.. He is faithful in directing my steps. I know He is taking me in the direction He intends for me to go even when at times the direction I'm going doesn't make sense. I know He has my best interest at heart. And though I can only see what is directly in front of me, God sees it all. Indeed, God has the birds-eye view and the final say, which reminds me of that old saying ... 'write your plans in pencil because God is the only one who holds the ink pen.

The word trust is mentioned in the Bible (King James version) 134 times and even more in other translations. It is heavily repeated in the Book of Psalms. Perhaps, it is so widely mentioned because God knows us so well. He knows that as we go through life, we need that constant reminder to not only trust in Him, but also that He is with us always. God has bigger purposes and plans for us than our hearts and minds can comprehend. Thus, why He tells us to not lean on our own understanding.

Perhaps you are going through a time of heaviness -- struggle, hardship, deep pain, misunderstanding, rejection -- and you cannot see an end. There only appears to be darkness, no light. Know that God is near. He sees you; He cares for you. And, though you may want Him to do something now and wonder why He hasn't, trust Him anyway. God is in control. You cannot fully see, but God is working behind the scenes. He's growing your faith, changing your heart, leading you closer to Him, and preparing you for what He has next. Believe that. Let our all-powerful and all- knowing God do His work and allow Him to have His way in your life, knowing that no trial you go through is beyond His purpose. He knows all of our days, and He never fails us. He is above all and able to do all things.

I know it's hard to fully trust God, and I know we we questioning -- 'why should I go that way when the more convenient and desirable route leads to where I want to go.' Yet, that small voice within us tells us no. Our flesh and human nature tell us one thing; God tells us another. Ask yourself ...

'Can I trust God even if I don’t understand Him?'

'Can I believe in the Lord and know He is faithful and will do what needs to be done?'

'Am I willing to see God's nature, reputation, character, and authority as it truly is?'

'Do I see His goodness, grace, steadfast love, and mercy in my life?'

If your answer to these questions are yes, then you know you can fully trust in His ways for you. You know that 'God is mighty to withstand anything'. (Proverbs 18:10) And, you can attest to the fact that God will always be near to protect those who love and trust in Him ... not in mind, but in heart.

They say my friend has lost all enthusiasm. He's feeling an emptiness within as the end of his life draws near. Cancer sometimes does that to a person who lives with such a devastating disease. It robs them of their strength, their motivation, their dignity, and often their hope. And, though I'm sure my friend wants to feel joy, there really is no joy in watching your body deteriorate and fail.

In all the years I worked with my boss, my friend, I never heard or saw him openly share any spiritual interest. Only when he got word he had cancer, did he begin graciously accepting offers of caring love and prayers from friends.

When I was growing up, my grandmother's backyard bordered against a large cemetery. A high cement wall prevented me and my siblings and cousins from trying to climb just high enough to sneak a peek of the many gravesites. The older kids told scary stories in hopes of frightening us younger ones. Truth is, none of us really wanted to see the cemetery, not to mention think about death and ghosts and all of the things that go round in a child's head. Most of the time I think we chose to pretend it wasn't there, even though we were keenly aware that it was.

Death is a reality we cannot ignore. Funerals and cemeteries are here to remind us that we all face death as a certainty. We can be fearful and angry and question God, but death will come to us all. My friend pleaded his case ... "I did everything right. I ate the right kinds of food. I exercised daily. I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. I have a healthy lifestyle; and yet, I get cancer. It doesn't make sense!"

Everything he said was true, and I'm sure a thousand thoughts tore through his mind on how to beat this beast. I admired his determination to fight the best he could. He even went through a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, that too failed. Time proved there would be no cure ... not for him. His time to meet his maker is near.

Why is death such a dreadful thing. I used to see it at the hospital when visiting patients nearing death. Those with a belief in God and the afterlife were calm and peaceful; whereas those who had no belief -- those who were convinced that life ended at the onset of death -- were agitated and frantic. Those who placed their hope in Jesus seemed to have renewed strength ... if not physically, certainly mentally and emotionally. Jesus was right there with them. They felt Him; they welcomed His presence. They knew they did not walk the path alone. God carried them; God loved them. And, they knew it. Faith in our Lord Jesus takes away the fear of death. We who believe love His glory, His grace, and His presence more than we love this life. There is no calamity. We are safe and await His taking our hand and walking us into His Kingdom. God’s word and God’s perspective will always be eternal. We are confident that 'what God creates, God loves, and what God loves, God loves everlastingly.'

'Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:1-6)

How can we know the way when death shatters our world and nothing makes sense. What does it take to hear Jesus’ voice and follow Him. We cannot let fear, resentment, indifference, sorrow, or despair block us from His love. Rooms of life, healing, light, and love; rooms of hope, mercy, and forgiveness; rooms of beauty and generosity await us all. We are grounded in the everlasting love of God and in the promises of Jesus.

I urge you to listen for God's voice when it seems that silence is all that surrounds you. Trust that His voice never grows quiet. Open your eyes. There's more to see than you think. Look at the afterlife as an adventure. Trust God. Allow yourself to be surprised. Death does not have the final word. Life has changed, not ended. Words of hope and wisdom fill our hearts each Sunday as we gather together. Beautiful music fills our souls week after week and stays with us. We are equipped and ready to express acts of love and kindness to those who are in desperate need. Thus, why we feel led each and every Sunday to come together in a loving environment to inspire, love, and encourage one another ... and, even at the grave; for that is when we will rejoice in gladness, give thanks to God for our loved ones who have gone on before us, and make our song: Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia. Christ is risen from the dead. Let us usher in new life, hope, and joy. Amen.
