... while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
~ 2 Corinthians 4:18

Do you have eyes that see what's not there? Do you recognize God's invisible presence? Do you see His grace? Do you see His love? Do you see His creativity? Do you see the possibilities that lay before you?
God is with us, moving amongst us constantly. We stretch our imaginations to see Him. We look everywhere for meaning. We say we see Him in the sunrise and sunset, the woods and the shores, in animals and in people. We search for Him day and night. We expect to see Him when walking into church ... through Gospel readings, while singing songs of praise, when raising our hands in adoration jubilantly, when bowing our heads in prayer reverently. But, the truth is, we never really know when or where we’re going to encounter God.
My first thought is Holy Communion. The Bible says that Jesus tells us exactly where God can be found. Jesus said we can find Him in the Eucharist -- 'And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the remission of sins ..." (Matthew 26:26-28) It is here in the Communion meal that God becomes most intimately known and present.
When we gather in Jesus’ name in prayer, God's divine presence is there amongst us. "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20)
We find God in people. Jesus tells us -- '... Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ (Matthew 25:31-40)
Lastly -- 'He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them, “Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.” (Mark 9:35-37)
Jesus bridged the gap between humanity and a holy God through His sacrifice and resurrection. God's very nature was revealed through Jesus. For in Him (Jesus) dwells all the fullness of the Goodhead bodily ...” (Colossians 2:9)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. (1 John 5:7)
Then Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. (John 12:44-45)
Open the eyes of your heart. Attune yourself to God's presence. Experience Him in your daily life. 'Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!' (Psalm 105:4)
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all evermore. Amen.
(2 Corinthians 13:14)
