How are you giving thanks today?

"Now Thank We All Our God", number 102 in The United Methodist Hymnal, invites us to consider what we have received from God, and how we might proclaim our gratitude. Surprisingly, the words for the hymn were written amidst struggle and want, as Martin Rinckart and his family were refugees during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648).

What a blessing it was to be part of the Back to School Bash today! Pastor Cat Stevenson Harris, George Harris and Mazie had the opportunity to serve our community and connect with so many wonderful families as they prepare for a new school year.

We are grateful for every smile, every conversation, and every chance to be the hands and feet of Christ. Serving others is one of the greatest ways we can share God's love, and today was a beautiful reminder of the impact a caring community can make.

When the wind is against us, Jesus is not.

In this week’s sermon, we reflected on Matthew 14:22–33 and the story of Jesus coming to the disciples across the stormy water. This message reminds us that obedience does not always mean calm seas, but Christ is present even in the storm. When fear rises, Jesus speaks courage. When faith takes a step and begins to sink, his hand reaches out immediately.

May this message encourage you to trust the One who comes near, calls us forward, saves us by grace, and brings us from fear to worship.

Take courage. It is he. Do not be afraid.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone in our church family who donated and participated in our school supply drive for Franklinton Elementary, Middle, and High School. Because of your generosity, students in our community will begin the school year with the supplies they need and the reminder that they are loved and supported.

As followers of Christ, we are called to be His hands and feet, serving others and sharing His love in practical ways. Thank you for answering that call and being a blessing to so many families.
