Our World Travel September Ladies Luncheon is THIS SATURDAY, September 19! We are looking forward to a wonderful morning of fellowship, food, missions & ministry!

As you’re at church today, please mention it in your Sunday School class or small group, invite some ladies to come with you, and then help us spread the word one more time at Wednesday night church! ❤️

🚗 IMPORTANT PARKING INFO:
We will meet in the Family Life Center. Parking and the entrance you’ll use are on the opposite side of the church from the main parking lot.

🌎 We’ll be highlighting missions and ministries happening in our parish, across Louisiana, throughout our country and around the world—including ministries where many of our own ladies faithfully volunteer and serve. You may even discover a ministry that you or your church would love to become involved with or support!

And don’t forget our mission collections:
🥫 Canned goods (corn, beans, peas, etc.) for our local food bank
❤️ Monetary donations for India Mission

𝐎𝐊 𝐲’𝐚𝐥𝐥… 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐀𝐈𝐑 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄! 🎡❤️💚💛🎢

The summer months are behind us, which means I’m officially working on schedules, supply lists and all the little details that go into serving the people of Washington Parish during fair week!

As we began last year, our church/group schedule now includes 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞—𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡, 𝐂𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐟𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡.

𝐖𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝟐 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟐 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡, with the others serving at Half Moon Bluff Church. Of course, that will depend on the size of your group and whether another church/group is serving during your time slot.

I LOVE that this allows our 𝐦𝐞𝐧, 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡! ❤️

So this post is really just to say… 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐭! 😂 Fair week planning is officially underway, and I’m so thankful for the many churches and volunteers who faithfully help make this ministry possible each year.

Ladies, help me find my missing names! 😂

I’ve confirmed 2 of the ladies going with me to LCU on September 25, but I’m still missing the other 2 from my list!

🚗 Please remember—this is about a 3½-hour drive EACH WAY. We will leave the Missions Office in Franklinton at 5:15 AM and return that evening. And yes… there WILL be a coffee stop! ☕😂

If you were one of my missing 2, comment or let me know! If not, but you’d like to be on the list in case someone cancels, let me know that too. 💜

💜 100 COMPLETE GIFT SETS! 💜

What a morning! When we finished assembling everything that had been donated over the past several months, we had 62 complete sets…because we had completely run out of one of the needed items.

Well, these ladies basically said, “No way—we’re gonna do 100!” 😂❤️

So a few of us zipped around Franklinton, gathered what we needed to add to the remaining donated items, came back and kept packing.

And our FINAL COUNT was…

🎉 100 COMPLETE GIFT SETS! 🎉

Thank you to our Washington Parish Baptist churches and ladies who have faithfully donated shampoo, lotion, deodorant, soap, socks, shower caps, toothpaste, toothbrushes & pens over the past several months. What looked like individual bottles, tubes and packages at each luncheon became 100 complete sets today!

Before we packed the sets, we gathered in a circle and prayed over them and for each woman who will eventually receive one of these boxes. 🙏🏼 That may have been my favorite part of the entire morning. We don’t know whose hands will receive what we packed today—but the Lord does.

I was also able to share with our volunteers what happens next. In September, myself & a few more will take our 100 completed sets to Louisiana Christian University, where we will work alongside other volunteers from across the state to pack the actual white gift boxes as we work toward the statewide goal of 1,000. Then in October, those boxes will be taken to the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women in St. Gabriel and distributed to the ladies there.

We took a few pictures this morning, but somehow I forgot to take a picture of the MOUNDS of supplies before we started! 🤦‍♀️😂 Trust me—there was a LOT! (In the pictures attached, I included the flyers that the ladies received at each monthly luncheon regarding this ministry so those new to this page will know what this post is about.)

But even better than a picture of all those supplies is knowing where they are now:

100 sets complete.
100 women who will receive them.
100 opportunities to remind someone that she is seen, prayed for and loved. 💜

Thank you to everyone who donated, everyone who came to help today, and everyone who helped us get from 62 to 100! I appreciate the way y’all continually show up and serve. ❤️

💜 **TOMORROW — WE’RE READY TO PUT IT ALL TOGETHER!** 💜

For the past several months, ladies from across our association have faithfully brought individual items to our monthly Women’s Missions & Ministry luncheons for the **Women’s Prison Ministry project**.

Shampoo, deodorant, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, pens, socks, shower caps… **you brought it, and now it’s time to put it all together!** ❤️

Tomorrow morning, we’ll take all of those donated items and assemble them into **complete hygiene sets**.

Next month, I’ll take our completed sets to **Louisiana Christian University**, where they will be added to sets from across the state as we work toward a **statewide goal of 1,000 complete sets**. Those sets will be given to the ladies at **LCI in St. Gabriel in October.**

🛍️ **If you have extra plastic grocery bags at home, please bring them with you!** We can use them as we assemble the sets.

And a big **THANK YOU** to everyone who has already texted me to say you’re coming! I appreciate so much the way y’all are always willing to show up and serve. ❤️
