OUR STORY
It was the fall of 2002, God called a few to plant what is now “Rolling Hills Community Church.” With a core team of 15 people, we began to gather in the Alara Farms apartment clubhouse on Thursday nights to study God’s Word and to talk about what church should be in our day and in our generation. In January of 2003, Rolling Hills Community Church was officially launched. We moved to th
e Marriott Hotel in Cool Springs and began meeting on Sunday mornings. It continues to be an amazing journey, and every day our God does something new! God continues to bring people to join in His story, and here at Rolling Hills we are all a part of something very special. In the spring of 2004, we moved from the hotel ballroom to Carmike’s Thoroughbred Theater in Cool Springs. It is incredible how God opened the door to allow His church to meet in the theater. For five years we set-up at 6:30am, experienced two amazing worship times, and hosted 10 theaters of Kids Ministry and one coffee shop for Student Ministry – then we would break everything down in order to be out by 12pm. It was truly amazing, and each Sunday was a testimony to God’s grace and His provision. For five years we never had a contract with Carmike, and God blessed and grew His church each and every week. In October of 2007, God called us to take a one-time offering for a place He would show us. We did not know where He was calling us; we just knew we were out-growing the theater and God was calling us to a new chapter in the journey. On that one Sunday in October, this young church, with an average age of 28 years old, gave over one million dollars. After we stepped out in faith, God revealed this amazing place, The WareHouse – a place beyond our Wildest Dreams – over 146,000 sq. feet, complete with three tenants to help offset our payments, sitting on 12.5 acres of prime real estate in the middle of our community in Franklin. While the building is not the vision, it truly is an incredible tool to share the love and the grace of Christ with our community and our world! On October 11, 2009, we celebrated our first worship time in our new church home here at The WareHouse. Today, God is more at work than ever before. He is calling us to “reach out, grow up, and give all” for His Name and His glory in our community. Our mission at Rolling Hills has always been to bring glory to God by reaching people for Christ and nurturing them in the faith through inspired worship, genuine community, and passionate ministry that transforms lives in our neighborhoods and throughout the world. In January 2014, we took our next step in living out this mission as we opened our second campus in South Nashville. In 2016, we strategically relocated to Nolensville Elementary off of Rocky Fork Road. Then in August of 2018, we secured office space on Nolensville Road to have a daily presence in the community. As of 2019 we merged with Revive Church and now have a permanent Worship Space in Nolensville. Jason Hale serves as the Nolensville Campus Pastor. In January 2018, Rolling Hills merged with Belmont Heights Baptist Church to form our third campus, our Rolling Hills Nashville Campus. Starting on August 25, 2018, we began meeting at the Trout Theater, which was very close to the Belmont, Lipscomb, and Vanderbilt Universities. We knew our time to meet there was limited, so we began searching for a permanent location. God opened the door for us to merge with Park Avenue Baptist Church on Park Avenue in Nashville, so in 2019, our Nashville Campus moved and found its permanent home there. Nic Allen serves as the Nashville Campus Pastor. In addition to our four physical locations, we have an Online Campus which is broadcasted from our Franklin Campus on Sunday mornings and also has other digital community opportunities. Prior to COVID-19, we knew that one of the first places people visit while looking for a church is the website, social media, and an online church service, so many of our efforts were focused on reaching those in our local community of Middle Tennessee. When COVID-19 hit in March 2020, like many churches, all of our services went completely online for a few months. We were blessed to have had our Online Campus in place at that time and ready for all that was to come. From that point and now going forward, we have continued to leverage the online space to build community through our Online Campus. Our Online Campus community has people tuning in from all over the U.S. and the world each week, averaging around 700 people any given Sunday morning. We believe that we are called to leverage all avenues to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and have been blessed to see much growth in our Online Campus community over the past few years! Most recently, with the growth taking place in Maury County, we felt God calling us to plant a campus in Columbia. After praying for a Launch Team, a place for our offices, a campus location, and a presence in the city, God has blessed us with our fourth campus, our Columbia Campus, in 2021, which currently meets at Riverside Elementary School, just minutes from downtown Columbia. Lusk serves as our Columbia Campus Pastor. In October 2021, we began construction at our Nolensville Campus to build out a new Auditorium, Kids & Student Ministry Space, offices, and more, thanks to the generosity of our church family. We look forward to the completion of this new building space in 2022 and continuing to reach the community of Nolensville! God is very much at work and moving through His ministry at Rolling Hills. We give Him all the glory for what He has done and stand ready to be used for His work in the future! We give Him all the glory for what He has done and stand ready to be used for His work in the future.
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
