New River Church

New River Church We want to invite you to join us at New River. Our aim is simple: To love Jesus, love people and to make disciples. We hope to see you soon!

We want to host God's presence and invite others to to do the same. To help people find the freedom that comes from His perfect sacrifice and victory on the cross. We want to grow in authentic relationship with each other, knowing the faults we have and seeking to be transformed more and more each day into God’s image by the power and leadership of His spirit. So come and worship with us, join one

of our engaging groups, step into one of our teams to use your gifts to serve others. We want to help you grow your leadership and influence for the gospel. We want to partner with you to raise kids who love Jesus and know their concrete identity as sons and daughters and co-heirs with Christ. We want to see your students challenged to go deeper and nearer to the Lord in a life-defining relationship with Him. We want to live God's call on our lives to glorify Him and bring people into His family!

You can't give what you don't have.

So before God asks you to do anything, He invites you to receive. A table prepared. A cup that overflows. An inheritance you could never earn.

Serve from the overflow, not from empty.

When you're walking through it, the temptation is to believe God is far off, up on some ivory tower, indifferent to the mess. The scripture says the opposite.

You haven't shed one tear in pain that God has not seen and recorded. Psalm 56 says He keeps your tears in His bottle. He doesn't dismiss your pain. He doesn't belittle it. He dignifies it. And then He did the unthinkable: He didn't just see your pain, He took it on Himself.

So this light and momentary affliction is not the end of your story. There is an eternal weight of glory coming that is beyond all comparison. Hold on, church. He is near to the brokenhearted.

2 Corinthians 4 / Psalm 56

Gifts are given. Fruit is grown.

The Holy Spirit does both in us: power for the moment and character over a lifetime. One can arrive in an instant. The other takes seasons of water, light, and even pruning.

Don't despise the slow work. The fruit is coming.

You can know about God and still not really know God.

In Ephesians 1, Paul keeps praying one thing over people who already believe: that they would receive wisdom and revelation, and know Him better. Not more facts. More nearness.

Wherever you are with God today, there is still more of Him to know.

Ephesians 1:17
