St Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church in Franklin, TN

St Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church in Franklin, TN St. Ignatius is a rapidly growing parish within the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese. Welcome to St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church.

We give thanks to Almighty God that He has led you here. Our prayer is that you find a spiritual home here and that together we can serve His kingdom with joy and gladness. Ignatius is a parish of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. The archdiocese is part of the ancient and venerable Patriarchate of Antioch the Great City-of-God, and all the East, founded by the Foremo

st of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. Our Patriarch is THE MOST BLESSED JOHN X (Yazigi) who was elected 166th successor of the Holy Apostle Peter in 2012. He resides at the Patriarchal compound located on the Biblical "Street Called Straight" in the Old City of Damascus, Syria. The Patriarchal Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos is located at this same compound. His Beatitude presides over our Holy Synod, the Council of all Metropolitans of the See of Antioch throughout the world. The Metropolitan of our Archdiocese is a member of the Holy Synod. As children of the Antiochian See, one of the five ancient Patriarchates, we share a glorious history of witnessing to and evangelizing for the Holy Trinity. The Primate of our Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America is THE MOST REVEREND METROPOLITAN PHILIP (Saliba), who resides at our Archdiocesan headquarters in Englewood, New Jersey. His Cathedral is St. Nicholas in Brooklyn, New York, the "mother parish" of our Archdiocese (being founded in 1895). His Eminence is assisted by diocesan Bishops who reside in chanceries located in various areas of the Archdiocese. Our Archdiocese has jurisdiction over all Antiochian Orthodox Christian parishes, missions and institutions in both the United States and Canada. It is divided into seven geographic dioceses: New England with its Cathedral of St. George in Worcester, Massachusetts; Eastern with its Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Brooklyn, New York; Southeast with its Cathedral of St. George in Miami, Florida; Canadian-American; Midwest with its Cathedral of St. George in Toledo, Ohio; Western with its Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Los Angeles, California; and Southwest with its Cathedral of St. George in Wichita, Kansas. Ignatius is part of the Southeast Region. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church was born out of the search of a determined group of individuals who desired to experience the fullness of God's Holy Church. That search culminated in the reception by Chrismation of its members into the Antiochian Orthodox church by Metropolitan PHILIP on February 21, 1987.

☦️ Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen! ☦️

An Update — and an Urgent Call.

Last night, the families of our new mission gathered for the first time as an official mission community — for prayer, fellowship, and a potluck meal together. It was a holy and joyful evening.

And then, as we prayed — the sun broke through, a gentle rain began to fall, and a double rainbow appeared over us.

God is showing us signs of His presence and confirming this work.

Here is where we stand:

We have raised $350,000 toward our goal of $500,000 for the down payment on our new church building. That is extraordinary — and many of you made it happen.

But we are not there yet. We need $150,000 more, and we need it quickly. The timeline to close on this property is real and urgent. Every day matters.

We are able to receive gifts through donor-advised funds and stock donations. See first comment for details.

If you have been waiting for a sign — last night’s rainbow might just be it.

Please give. Please share. Please pray with us.

☦️ Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen! ☦️

If you've ever stepped through the doors of St. Ignatius Orthodox Church in Franklin, TN, you know — there's something different here. Something alive.

Through the faithfulness of this community and the movement of the Holy Spirit, St. Ignatius is bursting at the seams. And now, God is opening a door to bring that same light to a new mission church outside of Nashville.

We've found the building. The opportunity is real. The timeline is urgent.

We need to raise a significant amount of capital quickly to make this happen — and we're asking our extended St. Ignatius family, near and far, to help us answer this call.

No gift is too small. Every contribution matters. The Kingdom grows one faithful act at a time.

💛 Give today. Share today. Pray with us today. 👉 Support the Mission (link in comments)

Pascha is here—the Feast of Feasts, the celebration of Christ’s victory over death and the gift of new life.

From the stillness of the Midnight Office to the radiant light of the Resurrection, we are drawn into the joy of Christ’s triumph.

Across the world, the Church proclaims with one voice:
Christ is Risen!

And with red eggs in hand, we share and repeat the good news—again and again. 🕯️🥚✨

Holy Saturday
The stillness of the tomb is not absence, but mystery.
Christ descends into Hades, shattering death and setting the captives free.

This is the day between—
the quiet before the triumph,
the hidden work before the light of Pascha.

Holy Friday
A day of strict fasting, prayer, and quiet reflection.
Set it apart. Step away from distractions, from noise, from screens—make space for stillness and prayer as we stand at the Cross.

“Thy sufferings we adore, O Christ.
Make us to behold Thy glorious Resurrection.”

On Holy Thursday, we enter into the Mystical Supper.
Christ offers His Body and Blood.
He humbles Himself to wash the feet of His disciples.
And He freely goes to His Passion.

In love, humility, and sacrifice, He reveals the Kingdom—and calls us to follow.

On Holy Wednesday, we gather for the Sacrament of Holy Unction—offered for the healing of soul and body as we continue our journey through Holy Week. We also remember the sinful woman who anointed Christ in love and repentance.

This is a longer service, with Scripture readings and prayers, culminating in anointing with holy oil. As a sacrament of the Church, anointing is offered to Orthodox Christians, but all are welcome and encouraged to attend and pray with us.

As we continue to navigate the effects of Winter Storm Fern, and with care for the safety and well-being of our parish family, especially those who are still without power, we have decided to cancel Family Night tomorrow evening.

At this time, we are still planning to hold Vespers. A final determination will be made tomorrow based on updated weather conditions and road safety.

Please continue to keep one another in your prayers, particularly those who are facing ongoing disruptions at home. Any updates will be shared via email, as well as on our social media channels.
