Members of the Shepherd of the Prairie congregation began meeting for worship before becoming organized under Pastor Travis Pittock in 2015. In 2016, Shepherd of the Prairie was officially founded, but with no permanent home. Pastor Michael Gruhn became our full-time pastor in early 2017, and we moved into our permanent home on the square that summer. On October 8, 2017, the doors to our new churc

h home on Decherd Street were officially dedicated. We now have over 25 members and counting. We meet for Sunday adult and children's Bible school at 9 am followed by worship at 10 am.

Today, we pause as a church family to remember, honor, and express our deepest gratitude for the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage and selflessness protect the freedoms we cherish every single day.
We reflect on the words of Scripture:

We had a great time attending the Franklin Lions baseball game as they faced off against the Rogers Eagles!

The Lions were down 9-5 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but they never gave up. In an exciting comeback, Franklin scored five runs to secure a dramatic walk-off victory!

We are so proud of our Franklin Lions for their determination, teamwork, and perseverance. What an incredible game!

What a beautiful night of fellowship we shared yesterday! 🙌 It’s one thing to gather and absorb the truth of Scripture, but the real adventure begins when we take those truths out into our everyday lives.

Today, let’s be intentional about letting the love and grace we experienced mid-week overflow into our communities. A kind word, an encouraging text, or a helping hand can change the entire trajectory of someone else's day. Go be the light!
