What We Believe

The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, whose integrity has been preserved through the ages. Jesus Christ
We believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ, who as eternal God, came to earth, taking on flesh, and lived among His creation. The Resurrection
We believe that Jesus Ch

rist was born of the virgin Mary, lived, died and was buried, rose from the dead after three days and has ascended into Heaven where He now sits at the right hand of the Father. Salvation
We believe that a person can receieve eternal life by accepting the grace of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins, through faith, in His perfect and final atonement. Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and the expression of all gifts of the Spirit being for today. Sacraments
We believe and practice two ordinances as directed by the scriptures, Water Baptism, as a public demonstration of faith in Jesus Christ, and Holy Communion, where we are to remember the sacrifice of Christ until His second coming. Day of Judgment
We believe in the Eternal Judgment of believers and the lost, and the bodily return of Jesus Christ.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER

Song of Songs 8:7 (NKJV) Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised.

Song of Songs 8:7 (TLB) Many waters cannot quench the flame of love, neither can the floods drown it. If a man tried to buy it with everything he owned, he couldnโ€™t do it."

Love. We hear it spoken over and over by so many, yet we wonder, do people really know what love is? One minute we are saying, โ€œI love you,โ€ and the next we are saying, โ€œI cannot stand you.โ€ You see, love is from God, and really, God is Love. To truly understand love, we have to come to a place of seeing Who God is. God is all-giving. His love is an all-giving love.

As todayโ€™s verse states, we cannot buy love with all the wealth that we have. You know you cannot buy God. But when we freely receive from Him and let His very being flow from us, it will bless those around us, and this hurting world. God wants to show Himself to humanity, and the way that He does it is through us. When people look at us and we say that we are Christians, they say, โ€œOk, this is what God must be like, because these are the ones that are following Him.โ€

You represent the God of the universe! You are the only picture of God that many people are ever going to see. In John 13:35 it says, โ€œBy this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." Love is what lets others know that we are Christians. Love is the mark of a Christian. I read this the other day, and it shows that even the early church knew the power of love:

โ€œShe walked into the Roman arena where the wild beasts awaited her. She trembled, not from fear, but from joy. Her name was Vibia Perpetua. She was just 22, a young mother, singing hymns as the crowd jeered and a lion, leopard and wild cow encircled her.

One of the beasts attacked, hurling her to the ground. She covered an exposed thigh with her bloody robe to preserve her modesty, and groped in the dust for her hairpin so she could fix her disheveled hair.

And when a Roman executioner approached Perpetua with a sword, her last words before collapsing were aimed at her Christian companions: โ€œStand fast in the faith, and love you all one another, and do not let our sufferings be a stumbling block to you.โ€

Let us be like her. Let us โ€œlove you all one another!โ€

CONFESSION: I make a quality decision today to walk the love walk, and to show God to others through my life.

HE CAN KEEP YOU

Jude 1:24-25 (NKJV) Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, 25 to God our Savior, Who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

Wow! What a way to end a letter, โ€œNow to Him Who can keep you from stumbling and to present you faultless.โ€ When Jesus did a work in us, it was not a half-work, but a complete work. He is the One Who will keep us, as the Amplified Bible says, from stumbling, slipping, or falling. That is a pretty good promise, right?

You see, when we look to ourselves, we see faults and mistakes, but when we look to Jesus, we see perfection and grace. The amazing thing is that when God sees us, He sees us in Jesus. He sees us the way that He sees His perfect Son. That is why this scripture states that He can keep us from falling.

Too many times, we try to live this Christian life in our own strength, and when we do, we mess up. But when we look to His grace and His goodness, then it empowers us to live an overcoming life. Jesus has conquered it all, and He did not do it for Himself. He is already victorious. He conquered for us! He was beaten with a whip so that we can have the victory. He was nailed to the cross so that we can be overcomers. Jesus took all the bad so that we can get all the good!

Our identification is not in ourselves, but we identify with Christ. You see, the Scripture says that greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world. So do not look at your shortcomings; look to Jesus! Look to His strength! Look to His conquering power! When you do, you will say, like the Apostle Paul said, that it is โ€œChrist in us, the hope of glory.โ€ Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!

CONFESSION: Today, I look to Jesus, and He keeps me from falling. Today, I look to His grace and not my ability, and it gives me the power to be a world overcomer!
