Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court #131 The oldest Black Catholic Fraternal Service Order founded in 1909 The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court 131 of St. Lewis.

Jules Catholic Church in Franklin, LA was organized on November 24, 1957, in support of the men’s Knights of Peter Claver Council 131. There were 16 Charter members initiated into the Order. Lady Almeta Morrison served as the Court’s first Grand Lady. Continuing her work efforts were Ladies Isabella Beverly, Natalie Verdun, Sharon Tyler, Florence Beverly, Geraldine Madise, Jean Franklin, Gwendolyn

Thomas, Carol Dabney and current Grand Lady, Connie F. The original Charter members of Court 131 were dynamic women of faith, eager to assist in helping the Knights with projects geared toward helping the church parishioners, their families, as well as the constituents of the surrounding communities.

The Ladies of Court 131 hosted their annual Spring Tea themed “An Afternoon Tea Under the Cherry Blossoms” yesterday in the St. Jules Parish Hall (Tea Room). Several guests dressed for the occasion and participated in the Fashion Stroll. Ladies, you’re all beautiful!!

❗REMINDER❗ Join us on Wednesday, April15th from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM for "How are We Really Doing? Resetting Your Mind to Reshape Your Life."

Karla Vappie, mental health advocate and Director of School-Based Health Centers, will lead the discussion of how to check in with your thoughts, feelings, and emotions in order to live a balanced and fulfilled life. Learn how to protect mental health through physical activity, peer support, self-care, and positive coping mechanisms like mindfulness and healthy lifestyle choices.

Participants will be treated to a complimentary lunch courtesy of our sponsors Knights of Columbus council 1420, Acadiana Hearing Center, and Enos & Veronica Fangue. Participants may also bring their own lunch.

This event is FREE to attend, but registration is required in order to ensure enough seating and lunches.
