Days 1-2 of summer camp have been AWESOME! Not only has the recreation been great, the campus been beautiful, and the fellowship been uplifting, but it has been such an amazing time of lifting our eyes up to focus on God and how we can truly know Him more deeply and affectionately through the study of His word.

So far, we have seen God as Elohim, the Creator who made all, holds all, and owns all for His glory. Also, we have seen the Lord as the Bread of Life: He who ALONE can satisfy our souls fully when everything else in life leaves us empty. Finally, we’ve seen God as Jehovah-Tsidkenu (the Lord is our righteousness). When we couldn’t be holy and when we couldn’t bridge the divide that sin caused, Jesus did out of His fervent love and magnificent plan.

We still have so much more to learn! May Christ continue to be magnified in our time here at Lee University!

Tonight, our amazing youth were able to share the Gospel of Jesus with approximately 200 people who attended Promise Lane Church’s “A Night in Bethlehem” event! Through these past few months, they have been working extra hard and having an absolute blast to prepare for tonight’s show. And it went fantastic!

We pray that everyone who attend will be stirred in their hearts to come to know, love, and follow the One True God who chose to come down and live among us as Immanuel. He is our Savior and King!

Over the last few weeks, Promise Lane Church has led some trips to the Asheville area with Samaritan’s Purse to serve and share Christ’s love with the people affected by Helene. Some of our youth have gotten to participate as well. Despite the destruction, the hope of Jesus is still present because God’s people are showing up to meet people’s needs. Please continue praying for those affected by the storm as the months get colder. Also, please continue to think of ways that you can help others know that God loves them in good times and in bad times. He is there!

Last weekend, 27 youth from across Macon County (including some from RENEW Youth) gathered together in the beautiful woods of Englewood, Tennessee, to study God’s Word at the second annual CONNECT Conference. The topic we considered together was “UNDIVIDED: Loving God With ALL Your Heart.” We encouraged one another through large group sessions and small groups to love God more than we love sin, seeing Him as far more satisfying and fulfilling than anything this world has to offer. In addition to this, we spurred each other to love others like Jesus loves, depending completely on the power of the Holy Spirit. We are so thankful our Lord helps us in our weaknesses!

Besides Bible study, we had plenty of laughter, quiet time, games, amazing food, and even a climbing tower equipped with zip lines! In all these things, we were able to CONNECT with one another and embolden one another to come back to Franklin in an attitude of worship and willingness to share God’s Gospel with a world that is desperate to hear it!

Last night at youth group, we looked at the story of Sarah’s laughter in Genesis 18:9-14 and Genesis 21:1-8. Through looking into the Word, we discovered some really important truths regarding doubt, faith, and God’s faithfulness in all of it.

Everyone has doubts. The question is what to do with those doubts? The Bible encourages us to cast our cares on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).

Here’s the link to the article that we looked at last night. If you are struggling with doubt, you’re in good company! However, we have a God who is not the author of confusion but of peace and truth (1 Corinthians 14:33).

These past few months have been filled with work and prayer as so many people have rallied together to make the Youth Building a safe place to meet. And now, it’s open again!

Please join us Sunday, August 25, after our church service (approximately 11:45am) for the Prayer Dedication Event of this building. We want to shower this place in prayer, consecrating it to our God for His glory and purposes.

As you can see from the pictures, before the carpet was put in, our youth were able to cover the floor in prayers, Scriptures, and reflections on how good our God is! The place isn’t special, but the God we serve in it definitely is! So, we set our eyes on Him! Please consider coming out on Sunday.

August 17 was a very eventful day for RENEW Youth! Starting out the day with lots of service projects at Trimont, we worked very hard to brighten up the place and make it more welcoming to families who will be dropping off their kids for school! We wanted to help Trimont in their endeavors sharing the good news of Jesus with their students this semester, and making the place feel welcoming is one way to do that!

In the evening, we all got back together for a PGP (Parent/Guardian Party). Families, leaders, and friends gathered together for a wonderful time of fellowship, eating, and games! RENEW Youth exists to equip students in their individual walks with God so that they can better understand Him, adore Him, and share Him with others! Coming together at this PGP is another way we can strive to live out those goals!

“I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name” (Psalm 63:4).

So thankful for these hands that are getting dirty with service and hearts that are being lifted in praise to God! We are excited to see how God will use this building to bring others to know His love and to bring us closer to Him too!

“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve” (Colossians 3:23-24).

SO THANKFUL for these amazing people who came out to help in the youth building today! It is looking so good, and we are so excited to watch God use it all for His glory and holiness! The place isn’t special, but the God we serve in this place is special!

“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; and confirm for us the work of our hands; yes, confirm the work of our hands” (Psalm 90:17).
