WORSHIP AT WALKER

Join us tomorrow as we observe both Pentecost Sunday and Memorial Weekend. It will be a very special service.

Troy and Andrew will begin the morning with the prelude, “God of Our Fathers”. The opening hymn will be “Battle Hymn of the Republic”.

Scripture readings and prayer will be shared by Paul Fields, Marvin Cox, and Dan Thompson. Wally Whidby will deliver announcements and celebrations.

Pastor Chuck McElhannon will present a message called “Wind, Fire & the Fallen”. Based on Acts 2:1-17 and John 15:13, he will describe the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and the power of the love we are told to share with others.

Special music will be “Love Called My Name” sung by Paul Fields.

HEBREWS. JESUS IS BETTER

Pastor Chuck McElhannon will begin teaching a new Bible Study Wednesday, April 29th at 6:25 pm in the fellowship hall. All adults are welcome.

Throughout the study the author works through key characters in the Bible and explores how Jesus is better than all of them.

If you would like to join us for dinner please email [email protected] by Tuesday noon. This weeks menu is: Deluxe Sandwich Bar, Chips, Dessert, Beverage. Cost is $5. Dinner begins at 5:15.

A group from Walker Baptist Church went to Decatur AL today to work at Love Packages. Our Bibles and books will end up in Kenya!
