The Church's celebration of the solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, known as Corpus Christi, holds great significance due to the centrality of the Eucharist in the life of the Church. Described by the Catechism of the Catholic Church as the "sum and summary of our faith," the Eucharist is considered the source and summit of the Christian life according to the Second Vatican Council's Dogmatic Constitution on the Church (Lumen Gentium, No. 11).

Prayer to the Holy Trinity:

Glory be to the Father,
Who by His almighty power and love created me,
making me in the image and likeness of God.

Glory be to the Son,
Who by His Precious Blood delivered me from hell,
and opened for me the gates of heaven.

Glory be to the Holy Spirit,
Who has sanctified me in the sacrament of Baptism,
and continues to sanctify me
by the graces I receive daily from His bounty.

Glory be to the Three adorable Persons of the Holy Trinity,
now and forever.
Amen.

Today we celebrate St. Augustine of Canterbury. St. Augustine was sent to England and established the Sees of Canterbury, London, and Rochester. He was ordained a bishop in 597 and converted many of the king's subjects, including thousands during a mass baptism on Christmas Day in 597.
