Triangle Circle is ready for our next unit meeting, May 23 at 6:30 in the Wesley Center. They collected supplies to help make Welcome Boxes for our GAP Ministty to the homeless. You can join us then for desserts and to hear more about GAP's impact! Bring new or gently used kitchen items or cleaning supplies for the boxes!

Our UWF group is serving dinner at KSU Wesley tomorrow around 5. We are having pizza, salad, and dessert. You are invited to come serve and get to know these wonderful college students. Meet in the parking lot at 4:45 at the CHR building to carpool!

The Executive Committee met last week and has some updates for you!

Spiritual Growth Retreat
The Kentucky Conference Spiritual Growth retreat will be held at Frankfort First UMC Saturday, April 22, 2023. The retreat will start at 9:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM. The cost is $30.00 per person and includes "morning nibbles" and lunch. The guest speaker will be Lisa Schmidt Evans, Chaplain at University of Louisville. Our group will be responsible for drinks. Look for registration forms at the church soon!

Fifth Sunday Food to KSU Wesley Center
UWF will take food to KSU Wesley on every fifth Sunday evening. The next fifth Sunday is April 30th. We need at least 4-6 volunteers to create the menu, prepare the food, and serve it. Respond to this email if you are interested in participating or contact Brenda Rue!

GAP Ministry Welcome Boxes
The GAP ministry serves our Frankfort homeless population. and needs help assembling "Welcome Boxes" for folks when they do find housing.UWF has decided to provide kitchen utensils for these boxes. Needed for each box are 4 glasses, 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 cups, a skillet and spatula, knives, etc. Items may be thrifted. More information is forthcoming, but keep an eye out for items like these at great prices!

Meetings
Because we are hosting the Spiritual Growth Retreat, our regular April Meeting is cancelled.
The next unit meeting will be on May 23, 2023, at 6:30 PM. Desserts will be provided. Someone from the GAP group will be coming to speak about the welcome boxes at that time.

Child Advocacy in person and/or zoom visit.
A group of us, all are invited, plan to go to the Capitol on 2/8/22….I am working with the secretaries for Representatives Graham and Fister for a time (trying for between 10 am and 12 pm). And Senator Gex Williams. His secretary has given me a tentative time of 10:15 am.

Please be on the lookout for the times as they become more certain. Let me know if you want to attend and I will call you before the event!

We will advocate for the KY Youth Advocates 2023 policy agenda. It is on there website. Elly included a link to it in our newsletter. I am happy to send you a copy of it, just tell me you want it!
