I am constantly amazed by the folk who make up North Fork Church. Today was a much needed and long scheduled day to complete several projects around our campus. I will not attempt to name all the folk who worked to the virtual point of exhaustion with a sweet spirit and a gritty determination. As I rest( yes I was one who sorta gave out) I reflect back on not just on todays servant warriors but on an ongoing labor of love and selfless service that has been ongoing for several weeks. We had folk who were going on vacation but pitched in early, others had prior commitments yet jumped in early and filled essential task. What is the big deal you may ask? Well it is not everyday anything celebrates 225 years of being. Yet NFBC is getting ready to praise and ponder the goodness of God and the proclamation of the Gospel in this tiny hamlet of Switzer through World Wars and Pandemics. The bell has rung and the encouraging notes of both hymn and contemporary worship ring out of the familiar hills and valleys. The history nerd that I am I often think about both the hardship and hope of those pioneers who blazed a trail through eastern Franklin County to plant a Gospel outpost along the banks of the North Fork of Elkhorn creek. Yet today as well as the days leading up till September 12- 13, I sense a similar determined spirit at work in senic downtown Switzer committed to " Keep on keeping on " for the glory of God and those who need his saving grace . Rest and recharge you valiant warriors knowing in a few hours we will assemble along the banks of the creek to worship and praise. I can't wait!!!

Thank you to all who helped cleanup the playground and garden areas today. The new rubber mulch is a huge improvement.

NFBC’s 225th Homecoming will be celebrated during the weekend of September 12th and 13th. Any current or former members who would be interested in providing special music or singing in an ensemble or choir - please contact Jay Bowman ASAP either through FB Messenger or by phone so that we can assemble for practice and planning.
