Have mercy on some who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire. Jude 22-23

Have you ever found yourself waiting and waiting on Christ to come through? Have you ever endured long stretches of suffering on a certain matter while hearing all sorts of wondrous works He was doing elsewhere?

It hurts doesn't it? We can be believers in Jesus for years, literally seeking Him, finding Him, and serving Him- then suddenly have a staggering bout with doubt. Overwhelmed with guilt and fear, we'll think, "How in the world could I be doubting after all this time?" It's a horrible feeling!

I'd like to suggest, however, that these kinds of doubts are probably not coming from our heads. They're coming from our hearts. Our feelings. Our emotions. Our hurts. Does that mean we can just surrender to them? I don't think so. Our heart-doubts can be very dangerous if we remain in them. But if we wrestle through them with the Lord Jesus, when we get to the other side of our crisis, we will find ourselves spilled into a place of spacious faith!

God's Word is like seed. The Bible says our hearts are like soil, and God's Word is like seed planted there. "As for that seed planted in the good soil," said Jesus, the good soil "are the ones who, when they hear the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patient endurance" (Luke 8:15). The soil of a ready heart is one that, after receiving God's Word, never lets go of it.

We hope you have a happy Labor Day holiday and offer prayers for safe travels to all.

Lord Jesus Christ, you are the way of peace. Come into the brokenness of our lives and our land with your healing love. Help us to be willing to bow before you in true repentance, and to bow to one another in real forgiveness. By the fire of your Holy Spirit, melt our hard hearts and consume the pride and prejudice which separate us. Fill us, O Lord, with your perfect love, which cast out our fear, and bind us together in that unity which you share with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Please join us as we gather to worship and give praise to God. In person service starts at 10:00 a.m. We are located at 2 Main St, Frankford with handicap access from the back parking lot, next to the railroad track. We also offer a pre-recorded posting of the sermon along with scripture reading and prayers here on our page at the same time. Pastor Kermit Hines will bring us the message, "Loving Difficult People". God sees us and still loves us with all our flaws. We hope to see you soon.

Bible study start has been changed to Tuesday, 9/22 at 10:00 a.m.

Lord of preparation and transitions, we are three quarters of the way through the year. As we sit and watch the summer sun dwindle away we wonder where the time went and ask ourselves if we have spent it well in your service. Give us the remaining weeks of this year a spirit of renewal that we may work through your church for your world. Keep us mindful of the needs of family, friends and others, that we will be your faithful disciples. We know God is working mighty things in our lives and you have given us the spirit of hope and courage. Even though we struggle and wonder if we are good enough, God is with us! He sees our abilities and our loving hearts. May God touch our lives with peace and confidence so that we have the light and spirit to make a stranger feel the embrace of God. Amen.

He loads the clouds with moisture; he scatters his lightening through them. At his direction they swirl around over the face of the whole earth to do whatever he commands them. Job 37:11-12

Lord, Your hand choreographs the dance of nature. You speak forth the rhythm of the ocean waves. Your word commands the clouds to rain on the thirsty land. The precise action and inaction of every element is under Your instruction. Why do I challenge the force of Your will in my life? I need only to witness the power of a stormy day or watch the sun dissolve into the horizon to know that You rule over all living things.

The beauty of creation can be mirrored in my own life. I must first give myself over to the dance that You choreograph. May I leap with full joy. Let my sweeping bow mimic Your grace. And as I stretch heavenward with open arms, may I be ready to receive the loving commands You rain down on me.

It's September! Some schools have already started, while others will return soon. Fall crops will be harvested soon and pumpkins will be appearing to decorate door steps.

It’s Always Harvest Time ~

Not just at harvest time,
do we need to have a reason
we can plant seeds of hope
in and out of every season.

We can reap souls to Jesus,
no matter the time of year
it doesn’t have to be Autumn
harvest time is always here.

Seeds of faith can be planted,
into the hearts of everyone
whether under snowy covers
or the warm blanket of the sun.

We can gather in the lost,
bring back a wandering soul
it needn’t be just in the Fall
for the harvest God controls.

It’s always harvest time,
we don’t need to have a reason
we can sow seeds of hope . . .
in and out of every season!

Beware of feeling entitled to My good gifts. Receive blessings from Me thankfully, yet be willing to release them back to Me without growing resentful.

When you have lost something precious, your job, your house, your health, a loved one, you may think it is irrational to be joyful. But this is a worldly way of thinking. Major losses are very painful, and they do need to be grieved. Nonetheless, with time and effort you can learn to focus on the good things that remain and find joy in the One who will never leave you. Remember that it is possible to be sorrowful, yet always rejoicing. The apostle Paul learned the secret of being joyful in all situations through this experiences of multiple hardships. The Holy Spirit empowered Paul to find Joy in the midst of adversity, and He can do the same for you. You must be willing, though, to let go of anything I take from you no matter how painful the loss. Then direct your attention fully to Me, trusting that I will never let go of you.
