Jessica Stern is a distinguished American diplomat and lifelong LGBTQ+ rights advocate. A senior fellow at Harvard since 2025, she previously served for four years in the Biden administration as the U.S. special envoy to advance the human rights of LGBTQI+ persons.

It was a great honor to attend First Parish in Framingham Unitarian Universalist's worship service celebrating 325 years of fellowship and service to our community.

For more than three centuries, First Parish has been part of Framingham’s story, and its commitment to building a more just, welcoming, and sustainable world reflects the enduring power of faith put into action. As a welcoming congregation, a champion of social justice, and a Green Sanctuary committed to environmental stewardship, First Parish demonstrates how a religious community can live its values beyond its walls.

Congratulations to everyone who has helped carry this legacy forward, and thank you for continuing to make Framingham a more compassionate, inclusive, and equitable community!

At the heart of democracy is a recognition of our shared humanity; one that affirms our collective dignity.

The DOJ's spurious raid on Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's home and the President's inflammatory verbal attacks on Somali Americans are the latest escalation in a long campaign of inflammatory rhetoric, political retaliation, and intimidation.

These attacks are a flagrant abuse of power designed to incite threats and violence in order to silence people, discourage voter participation, and undermine the work of building a democracy where everyone has a voice and the opportunity to thrive.

Pauline Park is a transgender rights activist based in New York. Among other significant contributions, she cofounded NYAGRA, New York’s first statewide transgender rights advocacy organization, and successfully campaigned for the passage of the 2002 New York City Transgender Rights Law.
