There are moments in history when a cry rises that cannot be ignored.

In the book of Acts, the Apostle Paul received a vision of a man from Macedonia pleading, “Come over and help us.” Today, I believe America is sending out that same cry.

I recently had the honor of writing an article for the Baptist Churches of New England titled “The Macedonian Call: America Needs Help.” In it, I reflect on the spiritual hunger, cultural confusion, and urgent need for revival across our nation.

As an immigrant pastor serving in New England, I see firsthand that America does not simply need better politics, stronger programs, or more entertainment — America needs Jesus. We are witnessing a reverse mission movement where believers from around the world are now being called to help re-evangelize this nation.

There are moments in history when the Church must rise with courage, compassion, and conviction. I believe this is one of those moments.

Europe once sent missionaries who helped shape the spiritual foundations of the Americas — including New England. From John and Charles Wesley’s revival to George Whitefield’s preaching that sparked the Great Awakening, the Gospel flowed westward across the Atlantic.

🌍 Reverse Mission and the Call to Multicultural Ministry

We are living in a time when borders are becoming increasingly closer. People from different nations, cultures, and languages are living side by side in major cities around the world. This global movement is not just sociological — it is deeply spiritual. God is bringing the nations closer together, opening doors for mission in ways we have never seen before.

A paraphrase inspired by the thought of Eduardo Galeano illustrates this reality well:

In a neighborhood newspaper in Raval, Barcelona, someone anonymously wrote:

“Your God has Jewish origins, your music was born among Black people, your car comes from Japan, your pizza is Italian, your gas comes from Algeria, your coffee comes from Brazil, your democracy was born in Greece, your numbers are Arabic, and your letters are Latin.

I live next door to you. And yet you say that I am the foreigner?” 🤔

This reflection reveals a powerful truth: the world has always been multicultural. Our societies are shaped by contributions from different peoples, languages, and cultures. Still, we often continue to see the “other” as foreign, distant, or different.

It is precisely in this context that reverse mission emerges. 🌎✨
Reverse mission happens when Christians from the Global South — such as Latin America, Africa, and Asia — arrive in Europe and North America and begin contributing to the spiritual renewal of these regions.

Today, immigrant churches are flourishing in cities once considered secularized. Brazilians, Africans, Koreans, and Latin Americans are planting churches, teaching the Bible, offering English classes, and serving their local communities. 🙌

This movement also challenges us to develop a multicultural ministry. A multicultural ministry recognizes that:

* God loves all nations 🌍
* The church should reflect the diversity of God’s Kingdom ✝️
* Mission happens when different cultures walk together 🤝
* The “foreigner” may be a missionary sent by God

In the Bible, we see this reality clearly. The early church was multicultural. In Antioch, leaders from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East served together. The gospel has always crossed borders and united different peoples.

Today, this same story is repeating itself. God is using immigrants to revitalize churches, reach new generations, and bring spiritual renewal.

The question remains:
Are we ready to embrace this mission?

Perhaps the one we call a “foreigner” is actually a missionary. Perhaps the one who speaks another language is a bridge to reach new people. Perhaps the future of the church lies in a truly multicultural ministry.

Reverse mission reminds us that the Kingdom of God has no borders. And when we open our hearts to this reality, we discover that there are no foreigners in the Kingdom — only brothers and sisters called to fulfill God’s mission together. 🌍✨

Não fomos apenas informados… fomos transformados por dentro

Saímos desse tempo com um chamado ainda mais claro: viver uma fé que permanece, mesmo em tempos superficiais.

Que aquilo que foi semeado continue gerando frutos em nós!

Deep Faith in Superficial Times

We are living in days where everything is fast, shallow, and disposable… but we have been called to something much greater: a solid, rooted, and transformative faith.

Our theological seminar was a precious time of growth, learning, and spiritual confrontation. We had the privilege of receiving teachers and guest theologians who led us into deep reflections on the Word, awakening in us a desire for a more consistent and genuine life with God.

We were not just informed… we were transformed from within.

We leave this time with an even clearer calling: to live a faith that remains, even in superficial times.

May what was planted continue to bear fruit in us!

The need for new churches is more urgent than you think.

Bottom line ⬇️
Church closures outpace openings.

In 2024
3,800 new Protestant churches started 📈
while 4,000 churches closed in the U.S. 📉

⬇️ But the tides are turning ⬇️

Ten years ago, far more churches closed than opened — 1,500 more.
Today, that gap is only about 200!

🙏 Pray with us for 3 things:

Pray...
1️⃣ that older churches would become stable and even vibrant again.
2️⃣ that closing churches would explore the possibility of a replanter coming in.
3️⃣ that many more churches would plant churches, and outpace the closures.
