Earlier this week, Rabbi Einsidler and TBS co-vice president Dr. Tara Sotsky Kent participated in a workshop with Scientists in Synagogues at Temple Emanu-El in New York City. TBS is honored to be a recipient of a grant made possible through the John Templeton Foundation, and proud to be part of the latest cohort of synagogues fostering conversations and events at the nexus of Judaism and science.

We spent the day learning with our fellow cohort members from the United States and Israel, and got to enjoy Temple Emanu-El’s beautiful sanctuary where we took a group photo on the bimah (we’re towards the back in the center). We are currently planning several exciting events for the coming year- please stay tuned for more details soon!

❤️Love is in the air!❤️

Please join us for a very special Shabbat this week when we will mark Tu B’Av together, one of the most joyous days on our calendar. We will be holding Friday night services in our lovely Garden of Meditation (if the weather cooperates!) and our services will include special readings led by members of our Brotherhood and Sisterhood, as well as a lovely kiddush luncheon on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing you there! ❤️✡️❤️

Elise received her cantorial ordination and M.A. in Jewish Studies from Hebrew College in Newton Centre, MA and received her B.A. in Theatre from American University in Washington, D.C. Part of her Hebrew College program involved studying at The Pardes Institute in Jerusalem. She is currently studying to be a rabbi at the Academy for Jewish Religion in New York.
