This is an example of why God has me fasting and praying for our nation going into this election. America who once proclaimed to be one nation under God, has truly lost its way, again as it did during slavery, which still haunts the soul of this nation today. For as it is written, “The love of money is the root of evil”. We see it in everywhere in America today. We have our first trillionaire, while people are going hungry, and homeless. This is precisely why Jesus pitied the rich man who came to Him and asked, What must I do to be saved? When Christ told him to sell everything he owned and follow Him. Imagine getting a personal invitation from the Messiah Himself, only turn it down out of your love of money and material things, that you can’t take with when this life is over. What a sad state to be in.
“A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’” “All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said.
