As we celebrate the Ordination of six new priests for the Diocese of Allentown, we know that many faithful Catholics would like to be present for this joyful occasion.

Due to the limited seating capacity of the Cathedral, attendance at the Ordination Mass is by ticket only, with seating reserved for the families and invited guests of the Ordinands. Each of the six men has been given a designated number of tickets to share with those who have accompanied him on his journey to the priesthood.

For those unable to attend in person, we invite you to join us in prayer and participate through our livestream and television broadcast.

To prepare for our celebration of the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 12, we are praying the Novena to the Most Sacred Heart. Reflecting on this centuries-old devotion, Sister Melannie Svoboda, SND, wrote: “A little kindergarten girl said, ‘Jesus is God’s show-and-tell.’ What a profound theological statement! May our reflection on the Sacred Heart help us to show-and-tell God’s goodness every day by the way we honor our humanity, embrace our woundedness, and love ever more expansively.”

Heart of Jesus, aflame with love for us,
Heart of Jesus, source of justice and love,
Heart of Jesus, full of goodness and love,
give us a heart like Yours!

Bishop Alfred Schlert is encouraging all within the Diocese of Allentown to join Pope Leo XIV and Catholics worldwide in praying a Holy Rosary this Saturday, May 30 for peace in regions around the world experiencing a surge in armed conflict.

The Pope is set to pray the Rosary this Saturday from the Lourdes Grotto in the Vatican Gardens at 1p.m. ET. At the same time, Monsignor Walter Rossi, Rector of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, D.C., will be leading the Rosary in the Great Upper Church of the Basilica. The Basilica invites all the faithful to attend either in person or via livestream to join in this moment of prayer.

Bishop Schlert extends the invitation to all the faithful of the Diocese to join in this sacred moment of prayer in unity with Pope Leo and all Catholics around the world.
