LENTEN PROJECT 2026 - CONTINUING TO GROW IN FAITH AND FARMING ⛪🌎
For the past 24 years, St. Eugene has been in a twinning relationship with a parish in Nkokonjeru, Uganda. Each Lent we raise money to benefit our sister parish. This year we are helping with small backyard agriculture project to help generate income.
Here is a message from Fr. John Mavirii, pastor or our sister parish in Uganda:

"To the Parish Priest, Associate Priests, Lay Leaders and dear People of God, St. Eugene Parish.

Here at Sts. Eugene and Monica Parishes we are still filled with the Holy Spirit as we continue to celebrate our newest members of the Catholic church. This past weekend at the Easter Vigil, we welcomed 15 OCIA Candidates to the faith, and watched the shared joy between our newest members and their godparents.

“We are buried with him by baptism into death… so that we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4

Please continue to keep our newly initiated members in your prayers as they step into a new life with Christ this Easter season! ✝️✨

Palm Sunday kicks off the most solemn week in the Church's liturgical year. Mass begins with a procession and songs of praise - then transitions into the reading of our Lord's passion and death.
Join us for our Triduum Masses and enter more deeply into prayer during these last few days before Easter!

Holy Thursday Mass - 7:00pm at St. Eugene
Good Friday Liturgy - 12:00pm at St. Monica
Easter Vigil Mass - 8:00pm at St. Monica
Easter Sunday - Masses during regular weekend times

The Five Wounds of Jesus are the two nail holes in his hands, in his feet, and the wound in his side from the pierce of the lance.

The purpose of this chaplet is to remember the sufferings Jesus went through during His passion, reflect and rejoice in His resurrection, and pray for souls in purgatory.
