LENTEN PROJECT 2026 - CONTINUING TO GROW IN FAITH AND FARMING ⛪🌎
For the past 24 years, St. Eugene has been in a twinning relationship with a parish in Nkokonjeru, Uganda. Each Lent we raise money to benefit our sister parish. This year we are helping with small backyard agriculture project to help generate income.
Here is a message from Fr. John Mavirii, pastor or our sister parish in Uganda:

"To the Parish Priest, Associate Priests, Lay Leaders and dear People of God, St. Eugene Parish.
Cordial greetings in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia! He has risen as he said Alleluia!
Happy Easter to you all.
On behalf of your Twinning partner Parish Nkokonjeru, I convey to you the above greetings in the spirit of thanksgiving for our enduring partnership. We recall with loving memory your representative visit to Nkokonjeru, last summer. It was gracious.
The Nkokonjeru Parish community, is very grateful and happy with the revival of the income-generating initiative and has involved the whole Parish Nkokonjeru.
Thank you and yours in service,
Fr. John Chrysostom Maviiri
Parish Priest
Nkokonjeru Parish."

Thank you St. Eugene parishioners for donating to help our sister parish. You are so generous!

Here at Sts. Eugene and Monica Parishes we are still filled with the Holy Spirit as we continue to celebrate our newest members of the Catholic church. This past weekend at the Easter Vigil, we welcomed 15 OCIA Candidates to the faith, and watched the shared joy between our newest members and their godparents.

“We are buried with him by baptism into death… so that we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4

Please continue to keep our newly initiated members in your prayers as they step into a new life with Christ this Easter season! ✝️✨

Have you ever heard of the Chaplet of the Five Holy Wounds?

The Five Wounds of Jesus are the two nail holes in his hands, in his feet, and the wound in his side from the pierce of the lance.

The purpose of this chaplet is to remember the sufferings Jesus went through during His passion, reflect and rejoice in His resurrection, and pray for souls in purgatory.

Learn how to pray the Chaplet to the Five Holy Wounds on Hallow by clicking here: https://hallow.com/blog/chaplet-of-the-five-holy-wounds/
