A message from a brother in the Lord:
Good morning dear friends:
I pray you are well and being strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
I wanted to share a couple of thoughts and scriptures this morning by way of encouragement and focus.
We are living in a divided world, a divided country, and sadly, a divided church. This can have and has had the effect of diverting our attention from the most important facet of our lives: faith in God, our relationship with Christ, fellowship with the saints. These things remain constant as does His Word, regardless of what’s happening around us.
“For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.””
Galatians 5:14
First & foremost, perhaps we should be focused on this. “For God so loved the world….”, not just those who have already come to know Him.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
Galatians 5:22-24
Sometimes it’s hard to have fruit when the “weather” isn’t cooperating. But we are designed to bear fruit, actually “much fruit”, Jesus said.
The Bible says that in the last days the love of many will grow cold. I think we can see that all around. I think it’s easy to become callous and defensive, harder to be exposed & vulnerable. But despite circumstances, we have the Spirit of God living inside of us, we have His Word, and we have exceedingly great & precious promises that we may overcome the world. That’s pretty good news, I think.
“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”
Philippians 4:8
Today, I will do my best to heed all of these words I have written and trust that Jesus will help me to live them out in real time. The Bible says that “David encouraged himself in the Lord”. That’s what I’m doing here this morning, and hopefully encouraging you also. We all need it, and maybe if you’re reading this, you were meant to.
God richly bless you today,
