FROM THE PASTORS of Fouke First Assembly Of God Keith & Judy Barr
Ephesians 3:21 says, " To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen"
The word "glory" in the scripture above means: dignity, honor, praise, a highly exhausted position, a kingly majesty, excellence, splendor, brightness, preeminence and good opinion concerning the one glorified. We would agree that all those words describe God but the scripture asserts the church that it is the church that is supposed to be displaying God in all His glory. Are we? When the world looks at the 21st century church does it form a good option if the one we are supposed to be glorifying? Week after week new s*x scandals come to light in the church. Megachurch Pastors are falling like leaves from a tree. Many people in our nation are suspicious of the church because we are no different than the culture around us. The church has become a place of entertainment where people go to be catered to. Others fear the church because of the radical political stance some taking called Christian Nationalism. Still others know that the church is supposed to stand for holiness, cant help but laugh at us for embracing the LGBTQ agenda and inviting its proponents to minister behind the pulpit. But make no mistake about it. If God says He will be glorified by Christ Jesus through the church, then it will happen. Everything going on in the church today will work out in His glory. God is allowing the church to fall into disrepute even though it makes Him and us look bad for the moment. But God will act to defend His name and the reputation of His Son. He has to because He will be glorified. God is cleaning His house. The gospel is centered around Jesus and His Cross so I say, God be glorified in our church, no matter how much cleaning needs to be done and no matter what the cost.
