Bethel Baptist Church was organized June 2nd, 1939, in the Fostor
ia YMCA by Reverend Charles T Isom (executive secretary of the Ohio Baptist general association) Reverend M Coleman (moderator of the Western Union district association) and Reverend Pennington the church had 6 charter members. Bethel has been blessed to have many anointed pastors throughout the years. Currently the Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church is Reverend Jerry L Copeland. On May the 10th, 2014 Reverend Copeland accepted the call and became the 12th pastor for Bethel Baptist Church of Fostoria. He was installed on July the 13th 2014 by Reverend Robert Jackson of Harvest Grove Baptist Church of Dayton OH. Over the years Bethel Baptist has established many new ministries and church teams. There is a new members class, compliance team, leadership, and strategic planning committee. Along with Sunday school classes and lessons each Sunday. Sunday School begins every Sunday morning at 10:30 AM

Come join Bethel Baptist: the Church full of prayer power and praise!!!. Biography of Reverend Jerry L. Copeland is a native Daytonian and accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Church in Dayton, Ohio. He accepted his call into the gospel ministry licensed in 1992 and ordained in 1996 under the pastorate of Rev. He served as an associate minister at Harvest Grove Baptist Church where Rev, Robert Jackson is Pastor. Jerry faithfully served as the Assistant Pastor at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where the Rev, Dr. Tommy H. Byrd Sr was Pastor. Rev. Copeland graduated from American Biblical Studies in Nashville, Tennessee. There he attained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Biblical Studies. Currently Rev. Copeland is Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Fostoria. He has served the community of Fostoria and Bethel Baptist Church since 2014. Pastor Copeland is married to First Lady Linda (Mitchell) Copeland and they have two lovely daughters. Daughter Shawana is married to Rev. Leroy Anthony. They have three children: La’Rae, Isaiah, Trinity and granddaughter Laila. Daughter Tameka is married to Tierney Bates and they have one child, Tamia. Copeland is commissioned to preach Christ and nothing but Christ as the Holy Spirit guides him. His Favorite scripture is found in Luke 4:18-19. “ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that ae bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
