Welcome to Sylvan UMC on the 2nd Sunday of the Easter Season, April 12, 2026. Our lectionary this week continues in this series “Stories that Matter.” Thomas reminds us that the power of Resurrection is inseparable from its reality. These scriptures invite worshipers to engage all their senses—sight, sound, touch, taste—to notice Christ’s risen presence among us and within us.

Read along with us in Exodus 15:1-18, Psalm 111, 1 Peter 1:3-9 and John 20:19-31.

Blessed Easter Greetings to everyone! You are invited to worship with us on this most holy of days, Easter Sunday 2026. Easter is a new start for all of us who journey together in grace as the Body of Christ, for it is the good news that binds us together and empowers us to continue on the path set before us.

Hosanna!! Welcome to Sylvan UMC for Palm Sunday worship! We meet at 11:00am for worship and a message from Rev. Jim Smith.

🎶Filled with excitement, all the happy throng
spread cloaks and branches on the city streets. There in the distance they begin to see riding on a donkey comes the Son of God.

From every corner a thousand voices sing
praises to him who comes in the name of God. With one great shout of acclamation loud triumphant song breaks forth:
"Hosanna, hosanna to the King!" Hosanna! Hosanna to the King!”🎶

Welcome to Sylvan UMC for worship on the 5th Sunday of LENT.

Our liturgy is from Ezekiel 37:1-14, Psalm 130, Romans 8:6-11, and John 11:1-45.

Pay attention to how this set of scriptures point us toward the redemption road, the road that leads us toward the cross, resurrection, and into the whole world.
The Ezekiel scripture is often included in Easter Vigil services, and for good reason. The description of dry bones coming to life is a potent image of resurrection. Yet, in the context of Lent, the dry bones can also speak to us of the weariness of holding out hope and our need for the Spirit’s breath to keep hope alive, to inspire us to continue on the redemption road.
