Daniel 3 gives an account of an unshaken faith by Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They knew God could rescue, but even if He didn't, they refused to compromise! In light of their faith, what many believe to be the pre-incarnate Christ stepped into the fire and supernaturally rescued them from physical death and pain.

While He doesn't promise deliverance from persecution, Jesus does promise to step into the fire with us when we carry our cross daily and trust in Him!

Our faith should not be defined by our expectations of God and our situation, yet be firmly founded in Christ. He is mighty to save, yet even if He doesn't, we cannot bow and worship the false idols of this world! Even if He doesn't save the broken marriage, heal the cancer, or stop the bullet from its trajectory, we should still hold firm in our faith.

And VBS is officially a WRAP! Family Night was so fun with our girls taking the win in our competition to raise money for Snack Packs, Captain Tom being slimed, rained on, and snowballed, Pastor Dan sharing about how God loves us, and then all the fun family activities with crafts and water play!
