in the Marty Leonard Chapel of the Lena Pope Home, just off I-30 and Hulen St. (behind Central Market). From Hulen St., turn west on Donnelly Ave. Go one block and turn right on Sanguinet. The parking lot will be immediately on the right. Follow the signs to the Chapel. Church Schedule

The Lord’s Day is a gift. It’s a time for God’s people to gather, worship Him, hear His Word faithfully preached, pray together, and encourage one another in Christ.

Whether you’ve been walking with the Lord for years, you’re looking for a church home, or you’re simply curious about the Christian faith, we’d be honored to welcome you.

We love hearing how the Lord is growing and shaping the lives of those who call CTK home.

Here’s why Dani loves Church of Christ the King:

“I love CTK because of the sound teaching, the genuine community, and the way everything points back to Christ. I love that every service is Gospel focused and centered on what Christ has done for us. I also love how CTK encourages me to grow in my faith, go deeper in God’s Word, and live out my faith beyond Sunday mornings.”

We’re thankful for Dani and grateful to have her as part of our church family. It’s a joy to grow together in Christ and encourage one another to live faithfully for Him throughout the week.

THE LORD’S SUPPER

CTK observes the Lord's Supper every Sunday. This practice is based on the theology of corporate worship, which is designed to shape believers into mature, holy worshipers of God. The Lord's Supper remembers Christ's sacrifice, similar to how the Passover memorialized God's deliverance of Israel, and serves to remind and spiritually form Christians. Early Christians observed Communion regularly as a central part of worship, but this practice diminished over time, particularly during the rise of evangelistic meetings. The church is now recovering this tradition, with Communion as the climax of worship on Sundays, and extended Intercessory Prayer on others.

A reminder for this week from one of our elders, David Jacks, reflecting on Sunday’s sermon in Genesis 31:1-21

“Remember: Although Laban’s “face was not towards” Jacob – the Scriptures tell us that God’s face is always towards His people. He has a favorable attitude/disposition towards His children because of His love for them in Christ. Dear Christian, your Heavenly Father shows and confirms His favorable fellowship with you in bringing you into His presence to commune with Him. The primary way God does this is during our time together in corporate worship, in the preaching of the gospel, praying, singing, and especially communion with Christ, by the working of the Spirit, at the Lord’s Table. Especially in communion with God is where the “Lord makes His face to shine upon you.”

Keep looking to Christ and rest in Him.”

“We were first attracted by the reverence of the service, but over the years have learned that CTK is a caring community and good place to learn and grow.”

Tony and Karen are a cherished part of our church family, and we’re thankful for the ways they both faithfully serve and encourage the body. As one of our elders, Tony has faithfully served CTK by helping shepherd and care for our congregation.

CORPORATE WORSHIP CONTINUED…

We seek to saturate our worship with as much of God’s word as possible. Every service of worship will feature many portions of God’s word because it is the bread of life. We select hymns and psalms that support the gospel-shaped service and reinforce the message of the sermon. We use hymns that are time-tested, focused on God, and reverent. The sermon is an explanation of a portion of Scripture. Our pastors frequently preach through books of the Bible, trusting God’s Spirit to apply his word to your heart.

In essence, we seek to worship God as modeled in Scripture, not according to human imagination, custom, creativity, or glamour. This ancient and reverent worship form depends on God’s ordinary methods as effective means by which God conveys grace, strength, truth, love, and eternal life.
